Hello friends. I think this conversation has circled around enough times and doesn't seem to be making moves towards anything in particular. Let's drop it and talk about the thread's actual topic. This is a polite way of telling you to stop discussing Dennis Quaid's dating life and whether or not his 26 year old significant other has any agency.

Ok then can we change the thread to something like “Sexual Assault Accusations in Hollywood” so that people don’t make these mistakes anymore? This felt extremely relevant to some of us and we made our positions about it clear and felt like the current title supported that, but if the thread should only be about actual assaults then let’s not pretend it’s a place for discussing other things.

It's not a mistake. It is relevant. But the last few pages are just circling around the same talking points, plus some slapfights, people assuming gender, people making a lot of assumptions on strangers who are in a relationship with age disparity, there's a weird through-line of people that think someone in their mid-twenties doesn't have agency, etc. It's all pretty ugly and there's a lot of toxicity being thrown around. So instead of throwing out a bunch of sixers, which I can still do, I'm giving everyone a chance to drop it and move on.

Cancelling doesn’t even work against normal people. If you’re a piece of poo poo and all your victims call you out on Facebook, it usually just means that you move to a new city and stay off social media for a while and you can just continue being a shithead. Hell in a big enough city like NYC you don’t even have to move you can just start chilling in a different part of town. It’s not at all surprising that something that can’t even stop normal predators from victimizing people doesn’t work on the ultra rich and famous.

If anyone was curious of Ziegler’s resume for handling Matt Lauer’s, entirely off the record, interview here’s a few of his more well known filings; A documentary about Disney killing a 9/11 documentary at the behest of the Clinton’s who were responsible for 9/11. A documentary about the liberal media’s choice in elevating Obama to the presidency and tearing down Palin. A mini-doc about how Paterno didn’t know anything about the charges against Sandusky and how Sandusky was an innocent man railroaded by the media.

It's thankfully still just a fringe bit of awfulness, but the slow turn to try and line up Sandusky's abuse as a bunch of lies and recovered memories is stunning given how clear the case was. One of the times where reality just doesn't seem to matter to some people.

One of the times where reality just doesn't seem to matter to some people. the thing that really cracked the Larry Nassar case was detectives finding hard drives filled with child porn. the sad thing with a lot of these cases is they rely on witness testimony and culturally until maybe very recently we're in a place where the first instinct is to dismiss victims especially when its a famous man. Even today if you say anything negative about Michael Jackson you'll get dogpiled by ardent fans with big copypastas about how he's the real victim. Same with Woody Allen. Not sure if anyone has watched the netflix show Unbelievable which is based on a true story but its a really great depiction of the decision making process of a victim as well as a lot of process work in what it takes for the police to actually pursue a rapist.

I know it's crazy subjective and just different shades of brown in a turd sandwich, but for some reason, Lauer having a remote button at his desk to LOCK HIS OFFICE DOOR is one of the creepiest things I've ever heard of. It's just so directly transparent in its intent.

That at least gets a little blown out of proportion, it wasn’t like he installed it himself, apparently it was standard for most offices in Rockefeller as an active shooter protection measure. It was just what he used it for that made it hosed up.

Not to get too much into the mind of a serial pervert, but Lauer’s was almost certainly there to keep people from barging in during his attacks, not to trap someone inside. Even if the door was locked, someone banging and screaming on the door from the inside was likely to draw attention.

Zogo posted:Jean-Luc Brunel (thought to have been assassinated) supposedly alive and now hiding somewhere in South America It's been an open secret he was an abusive rapist for over 30 loving years. quote:In 1987, American models who worked with Brunel went on 60 Minutes and described the abusive culture that Brunel allegedly fostered. In the episode, they say they were pressured into having sex with men out of fear that their career would suffer if they turned them down. Additionally, two of the featured women accused Brunel of drugging them; of those two, one said Brunel raped her while she was unconscious. (In an interview with the Daily Beast, Craig Pyes, who helped report the 60 Minutes episode, said more models than the ones who appeared on the episode spoke to him about assault they had allegedly suffered in Brunel’s circle — they just didn’t want to come forward on television.) Brunel, who did not appear in the episode, denied the models’ allegations against him.

Katie Hill didn’t start a relationship with her staffer, she hired the woman she and her now ex-husband had been in a polycule with. Those are very, very different and the story is mostly relevant to the thread due to the incredibly sexist way the story has been reported and the specifically incorrect language being used. People keep reporting it as an affair, but no one involved is married. Also the story broke because revenge porn was leaked (almost certainly by Hill’s ex-Husband) and the GOP are passing that poo poo around like a nudie book in a 70’s treehouse sleepover. It’s totally hosed and super disgusting. Bust Rodd fucked around with this message at 21:57 on Nov 4, 2019 |
