yeah but they also made the 350 diesel, and no amount of convenient crossword clues can make up for that.

the olds diesel would have been fine with just a moderate bump up in headgasket and head bolt strength. their dumbass move was not reinforcing _anything_

and thats how domestic manufacturers successfully murdered diesel tech in passenger cars for 25 years

i know chevy (and presumably GMC) also put them in a few half ton pickups. i recall reading that there were warning stickers in the cabs, warning drivers that the engines weren’t suitable for towing. idk. might apocryphal.

Aren’t those blocks desirable because they’re basically a reinforced normal Olds 350 block? Good for boost and all that, especially in the bad old days before aftermarket blocks were plentiful

Yeah they're quite suitable for all that poo poo, barring the fact that statistically they're more likely to have been parked under a pine tree outside a barn for 31 years

my feet have been hurting for a few months. the past few days my knuckles have been hurting. now the largest joints in my toes are feeling the same way, and my left shoulder aches. today finger joints other than my largest knuckles in my hands started hurting.

it seems as if I have arthritis now, and it hurts when it gets cold. I do not recommend this.

no redness, no swelling, not my big toe. there’s pain. which is also a symptom of regular arthritis, which is much more common

wait, do you think that all joint pain is gout? lol

i've had the same memory foam pillow for like 15 years now. it loving stinks because you can't wash it but i can't find another pillow that is as firm as it is and my neck gets sore in the morning if i try a different pillow. i spray it with febreze every week or so but it's still not pleasant to anyone who doesn't sleep with it every night. thankfully it only smells if you stick your nose into it.

the omega ratio thing is for inflammation in general, but the kind of painful inflammation from osteo arthritis seems to respond well, the pain part at least. which as far as actual quality of life goes may be worth looking at, as least as far as it’s relatively easy to address

speakin of the gout, i'm pretty sure i have it in my left big toe. i don't normally drink beer but the other night after drinking a sixer, i woke up like 3 hours before i normally do and my toe was killing me. i had to pull my blanket up because it hurt just having it resting on there.

i have to quit drinking completely on sunday anyway so hopefully this doesn't happen again.

i can't go to the doctor for it though because i'm leaving CA and my insurance is void outside of the state.

tossing a heavy cotton allergen cover on it might contain some of the odor, theyre a pretty tight weave to act as a barrier

they were extremely poo poo even when they were working correctly

utterly gutless, wouldn't start worth poo poo in the cold, needed a prolonged "warm up" to run properly if you got it started in the cold, stank to high heavens, didn't come with factory block heaters

they were just rolling fuckin disasters and the unreliability was just the tip of the iceberg
