Noped out after an hour of watching someone else's stream. The writing is really bad and only saved by the high production value. I'd say it's on par with some rpgmaker poo poo you find on fansites. This is like huffing your own farts and calling it DMT.

HUD question, how does the I think it's the endurance bar work? The teal one below the baby bar on the map screen. For me it seems to always be half full or so. When I run a white line appears on it so I figure I'm spending it slowly. It seems to refill less than the stamina bar, and not fully. Though I haven't returned to the chill room yet.Hamelekim posted:Menu and screen text is too small, and you can't change the size. Even with a 55 inch tv being less than 8 feet away it's difficult to read sometimes. Playstation's PS button plus Square button to zoom option is a lifesaver for me here, and I use it in a lot of games. Can enable that in the system's accessibility setting if you haven't. On melodrama, came up a page ago, melodrama often rules. Or at least this kind of epic heart on it's sleeve earnest drama. I guess I could just say well done melodrama. Stuff like HK movies (John Woo), Japan stuff (Gundam, fine anime and movies) etc, I really enjoy that style of drama. It genuinely moves me and I connect with it, so to me that full on style of drama rules.

Been watching streams of this, and I feel that while the environments are absolutely gorgeous, they are also kind of... boring? There's not much to look at other than rivers and rocks, and there doesn't seem to be any wildlife of any kind. Does it get better later? As a side note, the first area looks a lot like the highlands/low mountain areas here, not how I expected eastern US to look, but hey.

For wildlife and variety on terrain, that's more for your usual open world fantasy RPG. This has some Silent Hill in it's DNA for example. I dig it myself. They did mention a snow mountain area in interviews. And it's not just a post apocalyptic USA type thing, it's a far out way reshaped and messed with in all sorts of ways situation kind of place. It just happens to be where America was.

When you have the BB plugged in the stealth bits, how are you meant to really go through them? I’ve only done a couple but I felt I just stumbled through crouching moving slowly, holding my breath, and when I ran out of breath just waited a few seconds still until I could again. There didn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason to where I went. Did I get lucky? Is the orange attachment where the BTs are coming from or where I should be going?

I've just taken on the first delivery in chapter three. I've got a theory/feeling about the game world that there are only a few actually living humans out there and everyone else is a representation of a human. There was a conversation with Deadman about representative people using data and it didn't sound like he meant a straight up hologram projection. I also think the timefall and the data transfer happening instantly no matter the size (which one character says is ludicrous and amounts to the data travelling through time instead of space) might point the people in the world being largely memories of people.

BT ENCOUNTERS Your odradeck always points at the closest BT Once it starts flapping, crouch and move slowly At that distance if you sit still you can see where the BTs are If the odradeck starts spinning or turns orange, you are within 15 feet of a BT. They can hear you at this distance. Use R1 to hold your breath. If you get spotted, run like hell If they grab you, start swinging to knock them off and try to escape the tar. Mind your stamina when you swing. If you get dragged under, look up a guide cause I haven’t gotten there yet Sometimes I think it’s faster just to get detected on purpose and run

Almost done with chapter two, having fun making sidequest deliveries right now and just loving around getting a feel for the game. I like it! Sneaking through BTs is stressful but feels great when you get through it, and I'll be glad to be able to throw my poo poo on them soon. Dealing with the MULEs is the worst part of the game because it feels out of place. If I have no cargo then yeah I can sneak up and use my strand on them, but when will I not have cargo? Just to reclaim my stuff I guess? The hand to hand combat isn't fun either. Just seems half baked, nothing about the MULES makes much sense.

Right on, another question is the yellow blob on the map. Do we know what that is initially, or find out later? It doesn't seem to pertain to BTs, since I'm encountering BTs outside of that area. Does it mean mules? I did see mules in that area.
