Yeah but that's kind of the theme, so its by design. I don't get the impression the game is trying to be super challenging anyway

The game feels a lot like Tetris, on normal difficulty, where there aren’t any problems that are massively difficult or require lightning fast reflexes, but it needs constant attention from your brain, Lower level brain activity but constantly, and I think when you’re constantly making tiny decisions like should I turn left or should I turn right or should I climb over this thing or should I pull on my backpack straps, I think it will send your brain into a similar zone that Tetris does
Hard is pretty much the same way

I couldn’t read the button prompts on my tiny inferior 50” tv so I failed spectacularly on my first encounter with BTs because I flailed Norman Reedus’ arms instead of holding his breath, but managing to escape the growing sea of oil was easily the coolest part of the experience so far.

And the dynamic scenery and fluid simulation going on there is a technical masterpiece, everyone should probably fail on purpose a couple times just to admire it.

I love the game. I was worried from the reviews, but honestly its feels like a real journey. I think Hideo went to iceland before he decided on the environment, it's not american landscale. It definitely reminds me of Iceland but also Northern Ireland too

It was the guy who stabbed himself multiple times being eaten by the giant BT. Bodies not burned turn into a BT unless consumed by I guess one of those large BTs.

The text seems perfectly readable on my end, if anything some of the UI elements are a bit too big compared to others so stuff like the cargo screen feels very cluttered. Header text is very large compared to the menu text which I imagine probably gets a little blurry if you're sitting across the room.

Almost to chapter 3, game is very very good. Very atmospheric and slow paced but not to the point where it feels excessive. Characters in the story keep going over the same subjects multiple times occasionally but I don't mind it, it helps me remember all the weird concepts the game's pushing on me. The story itself took off like a rocket after the prologue chapter and then it immediately slowed way back down which I found kinda funny, but I don't mind that either, it was nice to get the setup out of the way and get into the game itself even if it did happen weirdly quickly. Only real complaint so far is that the menus are a little unintuitive, no streamlining to them at all. The game resorts to having characters explain what each individual option does because it's all very cluttered and every button on the controller does something in every menu. Nothing major, but I do have to remember which buttons do what every time I go into a menu I haven't seen for a while.

edit: Also my fingers are tired from holding L2/R2 all the time. It's ~immersive~ but boy I don't envy you if you've got joint pain or arthritis or something.

Back in my day we had to play dead rising on a crt and we still managed to squint narrowly enough to get a general idea of what the text said. Small text builds character.

Also I agree with the complaint that characters talk a bit 'clinically' outside of cutscenes. Y'know the parts of MGS where you're in the codec and the character is like "Snake, remember that you can press the action button (X) to mount and dismount the ladder" and they've got that tone like they're talking to a ten year old? A lot of the dialogue where people are talking at Sam while you're out in the game world is like that. I chalk that up mostly to the direction, though, the voice acting itself has been universally very good.

There isn't as far as I can tell. But check for a second quest from where you got that one. If you're where I think you are there is a definite easier way that makes the trip less than five minutes.

The best way to deal with MULEs is to beat their loving heads in. Got an empty box? Beat them with it. Then pick up what drops and use it to beat his buddy. I knocked a man out with his friend's extra shoes.

Best moment was bashing someone with the decoy smoke crate. It exploded on impact, blinding every MULE that was involved in that brawl. Each and every one got clobbered. Then I robbed them blind and grew mushrooms in their storage tent.

Using the bola gun is fun. Combat definitely isn't as complex as like Phantom Pain's insane CQC system, but obviously that makes sense and it still feels meaty enough to be enjoyable. There's more depth to it than it seems at first glance - the "just mash square" strategy technically works I guess but there's way more stuff you can do and I've already run into at least one type of mule that it doesn't work on at all.

Stealing their poo poo and jacking a truck and hauling rear end across a bunch of rough terrain is rad as hell.

Also man I can't wait to see where the Mads Mikkelsen stuff is going, he keeps telling me he's going to take me to the moon lol.

Runs flawlessly for me on a regular ol' PS4 that I picked up like a year after launch. Haven't even had any real noticeable fan noise. Steady 30 FPS the entire time so far - a few people have mentioned some dipping in cutscenes but I haven't experienced that at all.
