I just find the entire idea of "real him" or "worked gimmick" or whatever so bizarre. That's not how the world works. Wrestling doesn't get to make its own rules for basic human and society behavior. We all change over years and decades and adapt our behavior to circumstances. We all do it for work or the relationships we have or the world we're interacting with. Convincing yourself that your worst behavior is just "some other" you is just how anyone lies to themselves to avoid facing their bad behavior or changing.

Russo AFAIK never got physical during management meetings. He's just as unprofessional, but never physically abusive. People were probably glad to put up with Russo's weasel act just so they wouldn't have to stand to internal security just to write a loving TV show.
