chitoryu12 posted:Is there information on what the cop did? I've been Googling and can't find anything about him but endless praise and some old news articles where he was interviewed. https://www.augustachronicle.com/article/20070213/NEWS/302139985 "abusing his authority, lying to a superior officer, a domestic violence incident in 2000 and failing to show up for court hearings last year." And that's just the poo poo he was under investigation for by the department. If anyone thinks that's the extent of his crimes, lol. Also it doesn't matter what he did, the man who shot him was justifiably defending himself. Edit: unless you mean what happened in the actual incident? Seems like no one knows. The main person who would know says he doesn't remember anything, and considering the state they've left him in, that seems pretty likely. https://www.wjbf.com/csra-news/speaking-with-the-family-of-alvin-hester-jr-suspect-in-murder-of-richmond-county-investigator/ 'He said things like, “I don’t remember anything. I was just walking down the street when I was shot.” Hester also said he is not getting food or water at the jail and the wounds he has from being shot by deputies are not being treated.' Given that he shot the cop with an illegally possessed gun (stemming from his earlier felony cocaine conviction) and is refusing legal counsel and the official incident report has him threatening another cop at the same time he's pretty much destined for death row. That covers about 3 of the extraordinary conditions required under Georgia law

pop fly to McGillicutty posted:Sharks are smooth, but why isn't anyone talking about Flat Shark Conspiracy? Continuing with the nautical theme, some content: The whale in the novel Moby Dick was based off of a real albino sperm whale. The whale lived in the waters near Mocha Island, off the coast of Chile. He was described as being "an old bull whale, of prodigious size and strength". Adding to the white whale's unique looks, his head was crusted over with barnacles. From Wikipedia: "He was quite docile, sometimes swimming alongside the ship, but once attacked he retaliated with ferocity and cunning, and was widely feared by harpooners. When agitated he would sound and then breach so aggressively that his entire body would sometimes come completely out of the water." When he was finally killed and hauled in, the 70 foot behemoth was found with 19 harpoons embedded in his body. It's terrible that humans would hunt such an amazing animal, and I would have rooted for him to be smashing the poo poo out of whalers. Artist Tristin Lowe created a life-sized reproduction of Mocha Dick, with puncture wounds and all. I could imagine how pants-shittingly terrified the harpooners would be when they spotted this guy in the water. Captain, we've sighted a whale! Aye Captain, it's that big white one that everybody has been going after. Aye sir, the one that smashed a bunch of ships into kindling. Aye sir, he does look pretty pissed off. Aye sir, we'll just hop in this little rowboat then, and try poking it with sharp sticks until it dies. The Zombie Guy has a new favorite as of 10:07 on Dec 7, 2019 |
