I can't believe I ordered the Tammy and the T-Rex UHD, but I figured small labels can use whatever support to encourage more 4K. Also ordered Blood Hook to add to my MST3K collection (Jim Mallon directed it and Kevin Murphy was in the crew). Almost got the Rudy Ray Moore films except they were out of stock for the most part.

By the way, it's worth mentioning Indicator is releasing Curtis Harrington's Night Tide in January as one of their deluxe slipcase editions. Besides a perfect bound booklet, it will also include a second disc of Harrington's short films, pretty much replicating the contents of Flicker Alley's out of print Blu-ray. It's also a new 4K restoration from the 35mm camera negative funded by Nicholas Winding Refn. Who is also credited for funding the 4K transfer of The Film Detective's limited edition of Eegah! that just came out. (Night Tide is region free, btw)

Indicator is also releasing Peter Greenaway's The Pillow Book.

What’s everyone’s go-to movies or series of movies for holiday time wasting? Like when decorating or baking.

I’ll usually watch all 3 EE LotR movies while baking. I’ve gotten into The Fast and The Furious movies in the last year because of just how ridiculous they are/get. Got to the go-to’s of Gremlins and Die Hard. Gonna be my first year of White Christmas after seeing it in theaters last year. I hate musicians but was just smitten by it.

I don't really do that, I put on one of the TV subchannels. My staples for background noise on weekends tends to be Antenna TV or H&I. I was cooking some of the meals I'm bringing for Christmas today while Macguyver coached a hockey team. Tomorrow it'll be some Three's Company and Mork and Mindy.

I got the Monty Python Blu-ray set for my birthday. Really impressed with the restoration at least on the one episode I watched. That said it didn't ship well. The individual slots each series case sit in all ripped loose. It's not a huge deal, just kind of annoying. Whoever designed the box should have foreseen this.

I really need to say this:

If you want to see just how much difference you get in color in the jump to HDR, you just need to compare the Blu-Ray and UHD versions of the menu for Tammy and the T-Rex

I ask because F&F got me into Paul Walker enough that I’m intrigued to see this movie.

Can't 100% verify, since they're still down for processing Black Friday orders, but the lenticular slipcover is what was limited, although typically when the current stock sells out it'll probably be a few months before they get another pressing back in stock.

I showed the trailer to a friend of mine who otherwise has zero interest in trashy movies and he was immediately intrigued and wanted to see it. I mean poo poo, if just having the movie described to you doesn't make you want to watch it then you're probably not a person worth knowing.

I own a (non-obvious) Vinegar Syndrome t-shirt and I'm glad nobody has ever asked me about it, because I'd have to have to tell them it's a shirt from Vinegar Syndrome and then they go and look it up and it's 90% old porno movies and the rest is Tammy and the T-Rex and a whole slew of really gnarly slasher movies.

Amazon has a listing for the 4K and the regular Blu-ray for release at the end of January. So if you missed out on the BF sale, you can get it from them, or wait until Vinegar Syndrome puts their site back up in a couple of weeks.

The original release of Tammy and the T-Rex is fascinating as a trainwreck, but when you've seen the originally intended R rated version it becomes clear that they knew exactly what they were making and it's a great piece of camp cinema. This in no way invalidates the way people responded to the PG-13 version because it makes it even more baffling that anyone ever thought this movie should be marketed as a kids movie.

I own a copy of the original video tape. :smug:

I'm not trying to sound like a pretentious dick or anything but I think I may have been the one who originally made this movie a CD favorite. I stumbled upon it in a video store store just by chance several years back and when Dickeye started doing the streams I hounded her over and over to show it (and she eventually relented). Everyone who saw it there loved it and then that spilled over onto the forums. It blows my mind that any of this happened.
