It says a lot about Americans that drivers think their unsecured loads are everyone else’s problem My favorites are the false statements claiming legal immunity from the consequences

The two guys jumped out and threw it back onto the rack on top of the truck like they've done it a million times before. Glad they didn't stop behind me.

Not like those "stay back 200 feet not responsible for broken windshields" signs on the back of a truck that you'd need to be about 100 feet away to read, and that's when the sign is clean and legible and not covered in dirt or mud. As for vehicles in the U.S., federal rules I think list two possible things may "fall from a moving vehicle":water and chicken feathers. Water is still a thing, but chicken feathers grandfathered in from the way back days when farmers drove birds to market.

I saw a variant of that sign recently that makes me think that they're actually referring to the rocks that get kicked up from the wheels, not poo poo flying out of the bed, especially since they mention windshields specifically. But certainly up until recently I was under the impression they're talking about load shedding not being their problem, which does sound like 100% bullshit.

The landfill here turns away trucks with unsecured loads which just means the entire load ends up on the side of the of the road instead of a few bags off the top.

If something from your improperly secured load flies off and goes through somebody's windshield that is your fault regardless of how close they were following. I once almost had a piece of plywood go right through my windshield and the only reason it didn't is because an air current decided to kick it out of the way for me. I wasn't even following behind them, I was in the next lane over. Naturally their license plate was completely covered in dirt so I couldn't report them.

That's actually pretty dang cool, and makes me dream of a world with moving cables running every which way and everybody just carries their own stick. cablepunk Your pizza delivery is latched on to the cable with an exact delivery time. delivery cables run from the wealthy areas to the poor, so if the wealthy miss their delivery, somebody else gets to eat it and the rich just order another one. It ends at a pig farm instead of a homeless shelter because cableworld is utopia and there are no homeless. anybody who can't afford a cable is cabled to the central delivery complex and made to run the cables with a stationary bicycle for 12 hours a day without a break and fed soylent from a hamster feeder ~M. Night Shyamalan. e; for power you attach your generator to the cable. for water, a water pump, everything is cables whatever stupid fuckin hole you punch in this scheme, the solution is more cables. e2: you're only able to intercept 1 unclaimed package per day. Do you eat today or get a TV? who knows, cablepunk! Powershift fucked around with this message at 05:42 on Dec 22, 2019 |
