I made another song - I'm finding I lean more towards dreamy chillwave than outrun: https://soundcloud.com/rottenredrod/synthwave-project-2-wip/s-Vh4uG

This one is much closer to complete than the first one I posted (which I may go back at some point and remaster now that I have a better idea of what I'm doing). Still tweaking it, particularly the automation and EQing for different speakers (I need some studio monitors soon...) but I'm real happy with how it's come out so far.

These are a bit more dark electro, but I highly recommend Kontravoid and Moris Blak if they haven’t been posted here

Specifically listen to this ten minute long song by Moris Blak. My friend and I have been basically playing it on repeat

NEON is supposed to be making an announcement tonight at 10pm, i'm assuming it'll either be another festival style or just one big weekend show.

http://neonri.com/

edit: Another 3 Day Festival, the first one had a bunch of great artists (Waveshaper, Mecha Maiko, Tonebox to name few) so if you're in the New England area mark this on your calendars and keep an eye out for artists getting on board.

Today, courtesy of my Spotify Discover Weekly playlist, I discovered that "JBPWAVE", or Vaporwave/Lo-Fi-Hiphop featuring remixes of Jordan Peterson talks, is a thing. And completely earnest.

apparently last DwtD show in Portland had awful acoustics. Wonder Ballroom owns, should fix that.

My wife loved The Midnight, but I haven't at all been able to get her on board with DwtD or Magic Sword. I might be going solo to this one.

Just finished watching Sound & Fury and yeah that was loving good and cool. I had no idea who Sturgill Simpson was and only knew of this due to the Netflix ad.

I meant to watch this back in Sep but forgot about it until I just randomly saw it while scrolling through netflix stuff to have on in the background while doing work.

Groovy album, outside of a couple meh songs that got repetitive quickly. I was a bit offput at first expecting A Synthwave Album type sound, but dug it a lot more when the fusion kinda clicked. The experimentation and melding of sounds gave me Bowie vibes.

Videos were kinda hit and miss. The stuff that missed wasn't bad, just wasn't to my taste (mostly highly depressing stuff, like the kitty in the nuke :()

Country is experiencing a renaissance and Sturgill is going to be one of the most prolific artists to come out from it, to be sure. His song writing, arrangements and production is top notch for someone that didn't receive a formal higher education in Music. And his voice is straight from heaven. These aren't synth but I love them:

Yeah, I just saw them last month and they were excellent. Gonna see them when they swing by the bay area with DWTD, who I saw a bit over a year ago. Sounds like both are touring in supports of albums that are about to drop, and Magic Sword just released a song for it, which I like.

I've been listening to the new Dance With The Dead EP and I gotta say, I can just loop Scar and dance nonstop. It's a loving bopper. i wanna thrash and dance, and i'd say it's maybe the first like proper synthesis of dance and metal from them.

No, that's not true, Go! is also on that level, but it feels like they're finally developing the sound concept to a polish. I loving LOVE this song y'all.

Unless I'm missing something, there arent? GosT is a dark synthwave project with a lot of heavy metal influences. Ghost is a Swedish heavy metal band, is this causing your confusion?
