First it became a Six Flags, then it got combined with the Sea World next-door, then the people who own Cedar Point bought it up, then they shut down just the roller coaster side and kept the water park side, then they finally gave up. It’s only been completely abandoned for three or four years. One of the fun things about Geauga Lake was that to get there you’d be driving along a suburban/semi-rural road, with some houses on one side, and trees right up to the road on the other, and you’d be coming around a long curve when all of a sudden, BAM, roller coasters. It looked like roller coasters were growing out of the woods along the road.

Wipeout was 8 wonderful seasons of watching mostly out of shape people getting wrecked over and over again. My GF also loved the banter of the hosts. Nearly every episode had someone getting full on rag dolled into the water. Amazingly they only ever had a broken arm and 1 death that was due to an existing heart condition as I recall. She would look online occasionally cause she's a decent person and wanted to make sure no one was really getting hurt.
