Tangentially related to this thread: There's a whole subgenre of youtubers now dedicated to restoring old tools and objects. Most of it is boring "I'm restoring another goddamn vice wooooo" but there's a sub-sub-genre of people restoring old Soviet hardware and it's super fascinating both for historical purposes and to see how Soviet tooling and techniques were different than what became common in the US. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgCYajYs1rY This is a pretty basic example, but it's still fascinating.

I've never really heard anything specifically bad about PSL and they're pretty visible for a leftist org around where I am. The worst I've heard is that they really burn out organizers, but that's true everywhere. And people whining that they expect you to hold to the party line, but that's the whole point of centralism.

This is not the right thread to import forums drama into when there's already a dedicated forums drama thread. that is by the way, a thread where apropos went to the mat for a poster that dismissed the distress of poor people being unfairly banned that couldn't rereg as "unhealthy," because they claimed to be trans and caught a sixer. this is starting to border on a liberal obsession with bonafides trumping context. being an organizer doesn't mean you get to say whatever you want with zero pushback.
