I'm just glad that poo poo was basically non existent when I was growing up, aside from like...Myspace or Xanga which I wasn't allowed to use due to some drama over it at my middle school.  Like, it's a good thing that we've seen like young disenfranchised people able to form bonds and communities that would be impossible IRL due to their living situation but it's also melted their brains irreversibly.

Back during the Brit election, there was a trend for British journos to get super snobby and dismissive of anyone not using their real name/picture as a Twitter handle, and I could only assume it was because it made it harder to doxx people who made fun of their shite ideas. The entire conclusion of the video is her elaborating on the harm to her mental wellbeing as opposed to her finances/'career'. She is careful to delineate these harms because the argument that cancelling isn't real so long as somebody continues to survive in the public eye is really common and obvious. The more I see this same, unelaborated argument trotted out again in response to the video, the more I sympathize with her complaint that a lot of people online don't have the ability to interpret texts
