Sorry Rhyno, just be there for him when he decides he needs to talk. Made it home last night finally, 8.5 hour drive in a rental that smelled like a drat ashtray. What a loving journey, first admitted October 29th. I'll echo the love for zofran and, as needed in the right setting, hospital grade IV pain killers. edit: ha my new work laptop shipped without a charger, this will make activating and doing all the stuff I'm way behind on fun edit2: no securID either NitroSpazzz fucked around with this message at 15:12 on Jan 10, 2020 |

Zofran is some good poo poo. Phenergan/Promethazine is decent too, but makes me want to sleep (makes sense, as it's a 1st generation antihistamine... just like Benadryl). Glad you're home.

Watched the first episode of James May: Our Man In Japan. Its good- its basically Amazon giving him a bucket of money and telling him to "go be James May in Japan" Scene with the restaurant ended up with me wondering "Can I still remember how to do that?" And then things got out of hand...

NitroSpazzz, congrats on being out of the hospital! Re: Bronco talk, I have it on good authority that it looks good and stands to give the Wrangler serious competition. As much as the Ecoboost sounds like a wet fart I have come to like it in my Raptor, and the 2.7 EB will be an option. Ford also moved the roll bar behind the second row unlike the Wrangler so there’s less headroom intrusion on the Bronco while still allowing the roof to come off, etc. Just got an email from the dealer I put my preorder in with; I need to finalize my vette order and I’m waffling on color and trim level. Yeah, it sure seems like the universe can single you out and pile bullshit onto you. I feel that way a lot lately too. My brother died when I was in high school, my best friend died not too long after, and now the person I want to spend the rest of my life with isn't likely to have a very long life span to do that with. Makes you wonder if previous lives are a thing and you did some really terrible poo poo in them sometimes.

I'm surprised the Lucas made it better unless it had some type of Type F in there which is uh, stickier, than dextron and the Lucas made it slipperier. Putting Type F in a dextron transmission is an old trick to make a failing trans shift slightly better long enough to sell it to the next guy. Trick Shift is basically Type F. Hopefully the right fluid and good filters fix it rather than unleash the demons but if so at least 4eats are cheap and iirc you have access to the pay by hour garage with a lift. My stepdad has an F-150 with the 2.7EB, and the first (well, only) time I drove it, I was shocked at how it threw me back in my seat (his old 5.4 F-150 wasn't fast, but it would get out of its own way... his 351W 92 F-150 was kind of a dog, my 80 351M F-150 was molasses). Then got angry when I scrolled through the display on the dash and saw 27 MPG. When did Walmart start selling Toyota OEM oil filters? Went there to grab oil and a filter for GF's Matrix this morning. Went through the 90s electronic thingy to find the right filter (was planning on a Mobil 1 filter, since she drives so little that synthetic should be good for a year), and it offered a Toyota filter. Looked at the bottom shelf, and... yup. With the AC Delco, Mopar, and Autolite stuff. Downright affordable too at $6. randomidiot fucked around with this message at 19:35 on Jan 10, 2020 |

It's not like the 4.0 is an efficient engine. Dirt Every Day compared their Cummins 2.8 swapped TJ against one with the 4.0 and one with some form of LS in it, and the 4.0 was the worst of the three on fuel economy on a wheeling trip. Also speaking of oil, when did Costco start carrying their own oil? Looks to be the same manufacturer as Supertech / Amazon Basics but $30 for two 5-quart jugs is loving cheap and I feel a lot better about giving money to Costco over Walmart / Amazon.

How the gently caress do people without insurance survive if they get sick? Claim is still processing but I've been told insurance will cover 80% of the medvac transport from early December. What's the cost of a medvac flight from Knoxville to Omaha you ask? $224,250.... I mean I'm glad they did it but if I knew I was going to be on the hook for $45k I would have drove my rear end down there myself. Our healthcare system is so hosed, just browsing through all these charges it's insane. Otherwise good to be home, just went and sat in the garage for a while. Looks like a bomb went off mid project because it did. There's crap all over from prepping the formula ford, at least I had a work list so I have a rough idea where I was.

Yeah. It’s almost better when it is 225k or whatever, because bankruptcy if it’s that much at once is a no brainer for a lot of people. When it’s 800 here, and a thousand there, you keep struggling to afford it and it can keep you down your whole life. Healthcare here sucks. Vote Medicare for all.
