It was a shame how he carried on

The insecurity that conservatives have toward higher education is just so blatant sometimes.

Like, how do so many of them confidently make remarks about how dead and stupid higher education is when they themselves are irredeemable morons?

Fascinating.

How is it that all the conservative cartoonists seem to have the absolute worst takes on every single topic? You’d think even a gimme like “son of the Queen wants to spend less time dealing with lovely journos” which doesn’t need any commentary beyond “cool” would be something they could manage, but no

People are literally broke-brained enough to believe this.

EDIT: I don't know much about WH40K aside the fact that every faction is terrible, and that the Empire has severely declined in the 10k years since the GE got backstabbed.

The Imperium of Man is also really great at persecuting wrongthink. There's a pretty common Thought of the Day that gets brought up in most Imperium-focused WH40k stuff: "Blessed is the mind too small for doubt."

Edit: Apparently one of the WH40k wikis decided to put all of the Thought of the Day entries into a single catalog. I haven't seen most of these before and it's a lot worse than I realized. It's like staring directly into a MAGA chud's stream of conscience.

The joke of the setting is that the Empire of Man is fascist to the core, or at least it was. I don't know about currently, but for awhile leadership at Games Workshops seemed to forget that the setting was satirical. You could be generous and say the cartoonist probably doesn't realize he is drawing Trump as a sci fi nazi, but he obviously does.

I mean, the Emperor was actually a superbeing, he didn't just claim to be one. He was a genius scientist, politician and general, and he wanted humanity to be the very best it could be by discarding all the old superstitions and following his leadership. He actively didn't want people worshipping him like a god; one of the great ironies of the Imperium in 40k is that it's everything that Emperor didn't want it to be. He just...wasn't a very good father to his sons sometimes.

Yeah the Emperor is basically trapped in a living hell with his rotting corpse being forced on life support that demands thousands of lives sacrificed to it every day, and his empire being turned into a fascist theocracy with crimes against the citizenry committed in his name.

And the empire is so stagnant that technology old enough to be considered ancient are considered precious relics because they simply don’t know how to make them. Imagine if the printing press was irreplaceable technology.
