I think the variety of gimmicky games on Price is Right makes it more entertaining than most game shows. I usually get bored in the middle of a single Family Feud ep but I’ll watch Price is Right all day if given the chance. Jeopardy! is still the reigning champ though, I’ve watched it almost daily since grade school.

The latest episode of Joe Pera was so good. Especially the part at the end where he goes to propose but Sarah stops him and instead of it being super awkward they just continue to run around and have fun.

I mean, technically anything is an aftershow if you watch it after the main show.

I watched the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles episode of The Toys That Made Us. It was my first episode, and it could have been a one off, but it came off as...really bad. There was an interesting story there, going from a black and white comic book from a couple of nobodies to a toy and cartoon monolith, but it was nearly drowned out between "I 'Member!" nostalgia pandering, an insufferable narrator, and WACKEE EDITING of out of context interview clips and animated skits illustrating things, like they had no faith in the story being told. Also Kevin Smith is there for some reason. Is the rest of the series like this? Is the sister series, The Movies That Made Us, like this?

I don’t remember disliking the episode of Toys I saw (Star Wars) but I turned off the Ghostbusters episode of Movies after about ten minutes. Something about the presentation grinded.

I watched the first season and it was okay for the most part, but some of the subjects already had much better documentaries done on them. Plastic Galaxy, for example, is a way more comprehensive look at the Kenner Star Wars line.

I don't even care if they ever make a comic together again, it's just wonderful that they might be able to repair their friendship and that we got to watch.

Yeah, that was the one of the bright spots of the episode. I just wish that the producers had enough faith in the story that they didn’t feel the need to punch it up as much as they did.

Sucks that I'm a huge Ghostbusters and Die Hard fan so I powered through anyway but I really hope they replace the narrator if they do anymore episodes.

There are a lot of tv shows filmed in Toronto , such as The Flash , Jett , Titans , Star Trek: Discovery. But unfortunately my city features prominently in Netflix' Don't gently caress With Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer. Also in a bizarre coincidence, I lived in Montreal for about a year and it was very close to where Magnotta had been. I remember the headlines (eg in The Sun) when the suspect was captured , but the details in this 3-part documentary are chilling and gruesome. Anyone who liked Evil Genius: The True Story of America's Most Diabolical Bank Heist would enjoy this one. Binary Logic fucked around with this message at 12:38 on Jan 13, 2020 |

The Star Wars episode of The Toys That Made Us was interesting for me largely because it popped a lot of myths about Star Wars toys I had always heard about as facts. Like one thing you always hear is how Lucas was a genius for holding onto the toy rights in 1977 and the documentary shows he was actually locked into a completely lovely deal from the start because of how desperate he was, and when he finally got to renegotiate in the 90s he almost completely tanked the Star Wars toy market.

All the negative descriptions of the Movies that Made us makes me want to avoid it As for Toys, By the Power of Greyskull is good and still up on Netflix as of this weekend if you want to know about the Masters of the Universe/He-Man/She-Ra franchise.

Ok so, Westworld Season 3. This poo poo never came out? The trailer with Aaron Paul came out like 7 months ago. I didn't finish season one because it was a bit too rapey. I never watched season 2. Should I go back and watch them? Oscar chat: The Joker got 11 nominations. It wasn't even a good movie imo. It was Ok, just not all that great. The Irishman, 1917 and Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood follow with 10 nominations each. The Irishman was good just it could have been better if Scorsese cut like an hour off. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood was pretty good though. Toy chat: My favorite story so far was where the guys who made the He-Man toys were arguing that the existing mold for battle cat was out of scale and the guy replied with "I don't give a gently caress ... Put a fuckin' saddle on it." Edit: follow up to Oscar chat: Remember last year Bohemian Rhapsody won the Oscar for best editing? lol the Oscars are full of poo poo. less laughter posted:Sad news for Rhyno: I'm actually kind of shocked it's still on the air. I think I had an ex who had me watch it with her in high school and back then I thought it was going to be a 3-4 season thing and be done. Is that blue eye milquetoast woman still the main character lusting after a variety of basically horrible hotties? Is Grey's Anatomy just the new General Hospital or ER or whatever it was (lol unless those are both also still on the air). Watched You this past week and weekend, didn't know anything about it besides people seemed to praise it in this thread. First episode I was waiting for the twist to be this creepy dude is a vampire-- but the only supernatural elements of the show are how he and everyone else gets away with everything they end up doing. Pretty cool show, I like how they continually remind you the protagonist is a POS you want things to go badly for. I was expecting season 2 to end with his death or capture, just figuring Netflix is kind of a "2 seasons then bust" kind of operation. I was really surprised by how it did end and I like how it opens up another season. I do hope they have an end in mind already, definitely want to see Joe get what's coming to him. In the meantime, having to live under the same controlling, obsessive, murderous conditions he imposes on others is a good change of pace. I really liked that ending, I was really worried he was just going to get away with everything again. So far my least favourite thing about the show is Ellie's fate. I really hope she's back in season 3 and I hope she's the one to finally expose Joe.
