I've been playing some form of Smash Bros since middle school and playing default has always kinda been my thing. Maybe I'm just contrary (read: boring).

I tend to stick to either defaults or "lore friendly" alts. This means that, for instance, all of Yoshi's colors are on the table, as are red, blue, and purple Toon Link. Colors that reference other characters from a series are more borderline, but I might still go for them once in a while.

I just don't like alternate colors for most characters. The default designs tend to be solid, aside from alt things like Bowser Jr. It's much better here though compared to Melee though, everything looks so good. Also doing the expeditions for World of Light is so absurd to think about. Claus, Mother Brain, the Black Knight and Andross Brain all going into the jungle to look for food. Absolutely fantastic. I wish I had all of them so I could stick them in an imgur album.

It's just not my thing--although I do like to play as the purple gorilla sometimes.

I tend do half and half. Ness gets his baseball tee and Lucas a Dino, I used to do Fusion Samus but now I go Gravity suit. Ylink gets his green tunic, and also Inkling stays default because the black girl inkling is default in my mind.

I'm excited we got the next FE rep out of the way honestly. I knew it was a given at some point but just assumed it'd be a later reveal I wouldn't be crazy about. Is there any likelihood of a new Pokemon rep in the next batch? I think Sirfetch'd could be a fun addition.

I saw someone on the JP Twitter who claimed to have been told by "an insider" that Byleth was actually meant for season 2, but the powers that be swapped him/her in since Ryu Hayabusa got leaked. But it doesn't really matter one way or another. Getting a 3H rep in Ultimate was pretty much a given considering the past Smash games all got protags from the most recent FE release.
