Hello GBS friends. Today I come to you in the hopes that we can make things that otherwise don't move spin around, or make things that aren't normally round spherical.Paladinus posted:Thought OP would link to some online tool, but apparently not. So here's one: If you are a poor fucker like myself and use GIMP 2 there's a relatively simple way to do this under "Filters > Animation > Spinning globe". If you're trying to make things spin without being spherical god help your soul because you'll have to do things like:  frame by frame by hand. Or use an actual grown up software that can animate things without exploding your brain. If you're using the spinning globe tool I suggest starting off with a square picture to input because otherwise you end up with weird poo poo like:  Feel free to experiment though maybe there are some shapes that make cool things with the sphere tool. A proper square application of the previous picture ends up with:  That said go nuts. Let's spheroid this place up! I'll go with some stuff I made to start up. I suggest not balling up goatse because that's against the rules, but here's Mars:  Moving pictures on a spherical surface:  Ravegoblin from the music video for Dune's seminal track Hardcore Vibes, but round:  Some sort of weird Mandelfrown set, but I'll count it since it's vaguely roundish:  We're pretty lax with the rules here but try to make things roundish or spinning and we'll be the best of friends! Go hogge wylde!  Oh I forgot to mention this. If you use GIMP and are working with some stupid color spaces like .gif just go to Image > Mode > RGB so it'll let you use the filter stuff.
