It's stone cold how she ghosted young Harrison Ford in that movie.

I haven't seen the Lord of the Rings movies in years and I decided to watch The Two Towers a couple weeks ago. Now I'm watching Return of the King, and while the movie is good, I feel like this is the first time noticing the CGI is... kind of janky. Not in every scene, but this is the first time from the trilogy I feel like there is some obvious CGI standing out. Not sure if it's because they were running out of time, or they just had so much in ROTK compared to the previous two, but it's standing out a lot to me with this watch.

I seem to recall the Extended Edition version of RotK not only added back in some scenes cut from the theatrical versions, but also fixed some CG issues.

That would actually make sense, as other than when it first came out in the theater, I think I've only ever seen it as the extended edition before now.

One of the many things wrong with Solo was them not hiring that guy. It's extremely minimal when compared to all the other things they screwed up, but I don't know why that decision got made.

Still contemplating why I didn't register here under a clever pseudonym

I'm still worried about Disney's penchant for alienating or outright firing directors, but I can get on board with this as well.

I'll still be curious as to what the original concept was, though.

From was reported, it was going to be more horror-oriented and potentially the MCU's first R-rated feature.

Getting Sam Raimi doesn't seem like it would dissuade this idea.

Kevin Feige however has denied this. And seeing as he still runs things, it's one reason Scott Derrickson is out.

Exploration is ill-advised.
You can do horror themes without having to be R rated, I bet. I mean, just about every cartoon does.

In more recent interviews he seems to have backed away from a hard-R horror tone and more toward something like 80's PG-13 horror-comedy.

The MCU is probably never going to go R now, simply because DC has staked that ground themselves, and positioning themselves as the family-friendly alternative to degenerate grimdark DC is the most obvious way to dunk their rival possible.

That said, any guess as to whether Marvel will actually listen to their female actors about that team-up movie now that Birds of Prey is released?

Snake Eyes is definitely an ironic case of pretty much stealing the show of any scene he's in, probably because the dialogue tends to make every other character worse.

If I remember, Jackson turned in final cut before he had time to watch it, so it was probably heavily crunched.

Disney will force him to make a film more subdued than A Simple Plan.

Also IIRC there was some CG being finalized and they were even still shooting some quick stuff like a week and a half before the movie opened in theaters or something crazy like that.

The silver lining here is that if Raimi does go through with directing it, it’ll give him enough clout to make another GOOD horror movie.

I really don't think that's his issue. It's not like he needs 100 million to make a good horror movie. I know he hasn't directed anything in a while but I seriously doubt Raimi would have trouble getting 30 or 40 million together to make something if he really had an idea he felt strongly about. I think he's just been more focused on producing in recent years.
