What's amazing is that at the same time those were on (mostly X-Men) Batman TAS was on (and Gargoyles). The quality between those shows and the Marvel stuff is astounding. Speaking of Marvel 90s cartoons who are the non X-Men/Spiderman cartoons? I remember their being an Iron Man but really can't remember much about it. Were there any others?

Google says Iron Man, Hulk, Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer, whatever Ultraforce is, and late into the decade, Spider-man Unlimited and an Avengers show.

Ultraforce was the Malibu characters. There was almost a Ghost Rider cartoon, but we only got a short lived toy line out of it.

The quality between those shows and the Marvel stuff is astounding. The Fantastic Four was covered: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XggH5-vLlUQ Got to loving love that 1988 intro for a cartoon in 1994. It's most famous moment I know of was when Ghost Rider showed up and chumped Galactus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hx8ob0BAkOs The Iron Man cartoon is noteworthy for the Season 2 intro, and a surprising number of deep-cut cameos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y63i2NR9-LE You can see the gyroscopic suit-up rig they used in the first few MCU flicks. I'm sure it has a comic basis first though. That anvil thing is honestly though. There was also a Hulk cartoon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyQpEoMFF3w I remember the She-Hulk episode very very vaguely being run on UPN at like 6 am in the late 90s, the intro, and nothing else. Honestly a good intro. There was that weird Spider-Man Unlimited cartoon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_85l8sBlPk Made in that hot second when Heroes Reborn and 2099 both looked like things that would last. Turns out expensive animation and a weird concept about helping guerrilla fighters against the High Evolutionary isn't a good sell. Really good animation though, ngl. Ultra-primitive CGI Silver Surfer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHLI7VPFXro Mostly noteworthy for this promo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1FLRlVnHJQ A terrible Avengers cartoon where they gave everyone 90s armor and took out the three characters anyone back then would know of outside of one guest episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wS13aWX9osM I distinctly remember being a kid and thinking "who the gently caress are any of these people?" even though now I know them better than I do some co-workers. When the episode with Cap, Iron Man, and Thor aired I recall going "oh yeah so that's what they're from. Wow they hosed the designs up on this show real bad huh?" And then in the deepest cut I know (for Marvel) is Ultraforce based off a Malibu property: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYV8fgKW-8Q I caught this intro literally once at 4 am when I was a child and assumed I had been hallucinating until 10 minutes ago when I looked it up for this post. You can see them aping the X-Men intro with everything they've got and failing spectacularly. Somehow crowds can just smell an also-ran team like that. mind the walrus fucked around with this message at 05:08 on Mar 28, 2020 |

Jedit posted:And it's something I don't know if the comic writers ever thought of - what could the Spirit of Vengeance do to a being who literally eats planets? It’s based on a story where Doctor Strange uses a spell to cause a similar effect on Galactus, so it was easy to substitute him for the more 90’s appropriate Ghost Rider. There were two waves of Ghost Rider figures in 95-96, and this was all we really got of him in the cartoons. I think they showed his face once in a episode of X-Men.

There's nothing wrong with fond memories or nostalgia but both of those things need to be left in the past. Wasn't there another super hero team show where one or more of the guys had American revolutionary war themed costumes? And the chick had a suit-up sequence that featured a well animated butt shot?
