Roundup Ready posted:Astonishing legends series on the Sallie house was legit as hell I just started listening to Astonishing Legends and I started with this series because of comments in this thread. I really enjoyed it, though I'm not really on board with their interpretation of the evidence. I just started listening to podcasts a few months ago, but have mostly been listening to Jim Harold's shows. Paranormal Podcast is mainly author interviews. It can be hit or miss depending on who is on the show but I like that it's relatively neutral about the subjects. Jim himself is kind of a bland jovial dad type but I appreciate that everyone is treated the same whether he believes what they're saying or not. He's got another popular one, Campfire, which is listener's stories of encounters with the supernatural. I've picked up a few new shows based on the recommendations here, so thank you.

Well I sucked it up and got on Spotify, for LPOTL, since all the other podcasts I listen to are on there anyways so I can just completely move over. I would like to discuss the conspiracy theory that the Spotify get started screen on the phone app is a method of keeping music nerds from bothering normal people, cuz I swear I spent four hours entering bands I like before forcing myself to stop. If I could figure out how to get back to that screen, where entering a band I like auto populated new little picture circles of bands I may or may not have heard of, I would. I’d do it instead of eat or sleep.

Anyone here ever played Steve Jackson’s Illuminati: New World Order (INWO)? I had a game where Cthulhu cultists controlled the Vatican, who secretly ran the Girl Scouts, who ran the pornography industry in order to aid UFOs. It wasn’t necessarily a fantastic game mechanically, but it sure made for some entertaining scenarios.

Fun game, if overly long at times. Always thought it could use a revival and rules update.

A Grand Egg posted:Just started watching this This was pretty standard stuff, the part about the Nazis converting their submarines for space travel with alien technology was good. They seriously go all out trying to tie every single thing together, nazis, reptoids, free energy, time travel, MJ12, skull and bones, moon bases, even MeToo, and then 20mins before the end they tie in QAnon. Oh and at some point they say all information, like every book since day one, all science, mathematics, physics, whatever... is all fake because the reptoids. 4/10 I wouldn't pay money to watch it. Metal vehicles specifically constructed to deal with extremely high outside pressures can easily survive and contain a livable atmosphere in negligible outside pressures, that's just basic engineering.

I like it because of the more likely outcome; we have submarines full of dead Nazis circling the earth. Like, think of how cool it would be to be part of an exoarchaeologist team that gets to explore these vessels, maybe find out they lived up the for like a whole bunch of time before dying and had these entire stories they lived out up there. And Nazis are self aggrandizing nerds, so you know they’ll have written copious notes and journal entries. It’ll be like a horror game with all the backstory recordings just waiting to be found in spooky corridors.

Yeah none of those pictures seem to indicate how they're getting oxygen. and U-boats used a snorkel which obviously doesn't work in space.

If you have the 2 hours or so, this is the best take down of the Ancient Aliens BS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeO3wm2y2zI Weirdly, Youtube has kind of burried it. If you search for its full title, you get Ancient Alien episodes first before you get it. Note, The guy presenting is a Christian, and that shows a few times, especially in the part about Nelphim. Though its more of a "I believe god is real" kind of christian than a "GOD MADE AMERICA AND GAYS SHOULD BURN!" Mainstream american christian. Michael Hieser who's shown in the video a bunch is also a leading biblical scholar. I've heard him on a few podcasts and his knowlage of ancient texts is insanely immense. His explanation about why Nibiru and Annunaki have nothing to do with this is like saying Spider-Man comes from Vulcan because both appear in our culture. In no text do those two terms appear together. He also gets poo poo on because he'll do bible lectures and the Sieg Heil for jesus crowd will come out and argue that no, the text doesn't say that and that context is wrong, it says that taxes are bad and Obama is the Anti-Christ. I actually started listening to podcasts because of Skeptical ones. I can't remember which one I started with, but most there about how full of poo poo Ancient Aliens is. I listened to Skeptics Guide to the Universe for a bit but I noticed that A) They will poo poo on any movie or tv show that isn't perfectly scientifically accurate, which really is the most pendantic and unfun thing you can do B) the amount of time about them talking about upcoming appearances started eating more and more into the episodes, I remember looking at it and 35 minutes of an 1 hour and 20 min podcast was about appearances and lastly the primary host got really lovely when Rebecca Watson was sexually harassed at a con and Dick Dawkins was all "well, you should be happy some guy thought you were attractive" and the host was "ah this never happens, it was a one off" and completely brushed off the idea that sexual harassment is a common thing.
