Guitar reminds me of some songs off the soundtrack of digital devil saga.

Is it because they're a manufactured label product and their live show is awful? I'd understand that.

If there's no live show it can't be awful, problem solved

Jessie Frye and Ollie Wride are releasing a duet later month titled "Malibu Broken". I got a chance to be friends with them during the summer 2019 USA tour; Col from FM-84 isn't in any hurry to release their next album, so this is the next best thing until that happens.

edit: wrong on release date!

I heard one or two of his comedy songs but once he started singing serious stuff with the same drat tone and pacing I tapped out, it's your typical 40 year old at karaoke.

Sorry for double post but NEON announced two sets of artists so far and it's looking to be a pretty fun line up.

That's basically how I feel. There's a TWRP song, I think No Pants Dance, that he sings on and I liked the song but hated singing. Turns out they recorded a version without him for an earlier album and it's much better.

There's an 80s cover album him and Arin did that's playing every once in a while at my retro game store and every song I've is starkly worse than the original. Their brand of music music itself is so wrote and cheap. There's nothing beyond their novelty.

Personally I don't care because his range is terrible live, he's a studio singer.

I'm the opposite, weirdly. I've really liked all the stuff he's done with TWRP but the NSP songs tend to just be Dan singing run on sentences about how good he is at sex but Ninja Brian is not.

I think until Col finishes composing, Ollie will continue doing solo gigs as much as possible. At the end of the tour last year, Col was indicating he may go full time with music, but he has a pretty serious non-music career, and a young family, so he may have changed his mind, and all questions about new music have gotten a pretty standard "it's done when it's done" response.

I also saw that video he did-- he's got a great studio voice but yeah he's not a killer screen presence either.

Apparently there's a legal issue with Carpenter Brut's short film being released to backers, some other online streaming platform the filmmakers signed a deal with a while back are not happy / lawyering up to delay the release direct to backers, so they can make money selling it on their service.

Is it even out on Shudder yet? Or is it not getting released anywhere until the legal situation is resolved?
