Scott Mac may run up to 8 races with Penske this year, and seems to be a lock to replace Pagenaud next year if he goes to McLaren as expected. https://racer.com/2020/02/20/johnson-backs-mclaughlin-for-full-time-indycar-move/

In the Discord we got to talking about rovals and that produced some interesting things worth sharing here for posterity. Motegi might still be running as an oval, and particularly a high-end endurance race track, if it bothered to link up the oval and the road course to make a super-roval. Here's an idea I came up with. Might be too late for the real track, but maybe someone could mod a gaming/sim version of it? Other famous outfield rovals: New Hampshire (still the best), Texas World (), Michigan (?), Rio (), Phoenix (). Ahh yes, Phoenix. Since they closed up the walls outside the dogleg to reprofile the oval, the old road course was closed off. But you really can't appreciate how much Phoenix was IOC dug up this video demonstrating peak Phoenix, and Tony Kanaan charging from the back to the front at the start, as TK does. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UT9JtACUZuI It is packed with memories/embarrassing nostalgia: - Dan Wheldon out in front - 19th. Patrick (R) - "There's Dario Franchitti…the husband to Ashley Judd!" - Scott Goodyear: "The last guy to win from the back was Buddy Lazier … The reason I know that is because I was up in 2nd and I couldn't get up to him."

Pigot puts us at 33 confirmed cars for the 500, 30 confirmed drivers. Confirmed cars without drivers are Dragonspeed, Carlins #2, and D&Rs #2 who we all know who is gonna be in the car cmon they even showed it painted the colors on twitter. Frye said he expects 36 for May, so still 3 left to get announced. Juncos? Coyne #3? Also looking like 28+ cars at the GP...

Dragonspeed is gonna run Australian James Allen at the COTA test, and wants to run him in some races this year. https://racer.com/2020/02/29/allen-ready-for-first-indycar-test-with-dragonspeed/ Kid seemed fast in ELMS, he had the highest averages on B Pillar last year over the season. https://twitter.com/thebpillar/status/1207434817694052352

Considering that article also suggests Allen would have had testing/racing time last year had DragonSpeed continued their races after Indy, this doesn't seem like something they would be thinking twice about.
