It's been ages since I played, so I'm still at World Tier 2 with gear in the mid to high 300s, meaning at some point when I can set aside some time I've got a bunch of stronghold missions and specialisation points to spread around.

Is the library for gear rolls something post-30/expansion only or am I missing an option somewhere?

You're one step ahead of me, I'm still going through the base game for the first time. Where is the library? Is it something I unlock later? I do appreciate that skill mods no longer require skill power, and just power up from gear with that on top of things.

FYI the vendor across from the recalibration table in NY has a yellow LMG and a yellow vector that are really, really good. The LMG is an M249 with strained so if you stack crit it will reload really fast. The vector has the talent that heals your armor on kill. It's a great combo and you can just buy new ones as needed. My LMG goes up like 5-7k damage every level.

Now that I’m 40 and had the materials I went ahead and crafted 4 piece Hard Wired along a Skilled vest and my lvl 30 BTSU gloves. Folks, skill bullshit is still hella fun and effective. Cleared a few CP3s solo with no effort back in DC and I’m happy to not have to aim again. The loop / refresh works a little differently now so it’s a little slower but detonating the hives as it’s ending to throw overcharged mines is super fun. Guess it’s time to farm lvl 40 BTSU gloves and good rolled vest. (In addition to better HW gear since the rolls on the crafted stuff wasn’t great.

The server status has been dogshit for me the last couple of days. Bad lag spikes, connection issues, and then just got to the last boss with some goons only for my connection to be dropped and now getting Bravo04 errors repeatedly, loving killer.

If they fix the backpack talent issue then a 4-piece Hardwired setup with a Hive (or chem launcher, really) would effectively give you ~11-12 second seekers (with no skill haste) just dropping your hive, tossing balls, then picking it back up. That's pretty much the old time I had on seekers stacked high on haste, albeit doing less than half the damage. My theorycrafting so far is 4*HW chest+backpack, then China and Wyvern depending on rolls for slots. Having to take the chest and backpack kind of screws you out of getting Skilled (I guess? No idea if it can roll on other slots.) but without being able to get stupid amounts of haste any more I'll happily drop a hive at my feet every ten seconds for free mines. I'll test this right after spending roughly a billion hours Solar Farming.

An LMG seems to be a great weapon to use if you're using the oxidizer chem launcher. You just pin a target in place and then dumb a few oxidizers on them and they just sit there and melt.

Happy Noodle Boy posted:It’s a lot easier to explain with images, folks FYI that little orange arrow means one of two things: 1. That the % of that trait on the piece is better than what you have stored in your library (so strip it if you can) 2. You have that trait in your library and the library one is a better % than is what on this piece (so recal the better % on if you can) From what I've seen whatever system drives all this is might be bugged or doing something weird because it's very inconsistent on applying arrows in the UI. I've had a few pieces that had 2 stats and both could have been improved on with what I have in my library but only one of them had an arrow under it. The reverse has also happened. Also there is no arrow for the red or blue core attribute, you have to inspect the piece directly to see if it's good or bad. And lastly there is no indicator if you have a piece that has a % or talent that you do not have in your library at all. I'm getting into the habit of hitting up the recal table & going thru all the extraction stuff to grab anything of use before vendoring the rest of whatever I've collected.

Back from anything prior to the new DLC. I tried jumping back in with the raid and the new classes, but I'm not the type to drop dozens of hours in for a class unlock. It sucks, but I refuse to pay, and I'm more than happy with my grenade launcher.

I’m not in that clan but all the clans have been getting cleared out of people who hadn’t logged in for a while. If you join the Discord in the OP you can get sorted in the clan channel for the game.

Finished DLC. Fight was easy if you cheated like me and looked at the spoilers posted here. Post-fight cutscene: I was hoping the new baddie would have been your Div1 character gone rogue. I thought they were building up to that with Rhodes commenting to Lau about all her agents going rogue. Her going rogue is boring. Imagine that cutscene but instead of Lau turning around Ubi used your Div1 character model.

Is anyone else having trouble retaining Directives? Twice I activated 3 directives--because it seemed like it didn't 'take' the first time, but today I turn the game on and only the difficulty I changed it to (Hard) stayed on. Just now I set 3 directives, had the map reset, and saw that my directives were there. I logged out, then logged back in, then they were gone. Is this by design? Edit: I also tested to make sure it's not just a display bug: I turned on Ammo Hoarders which is supposed to make you lose all ammo in a mag when you reload. I'd step outside and shoot two shots, reload, and I only lose 1-2 rounds. Morter fucked around with this message at 13:44 on Mar 5, 2020 |

Speaking of the final mission: So you pick up early on that BT is here to kill Keener. You’re the to kill Keener. Why are you stopping Black Tusk again? I mean yeah Keener ends up hacking all their poo poo so they wouldn’t have done it but I half expected a team-up with BT against their own tech or teaming up with Keener when BT takes over whatever the gently caress he was planning.

If you are in need for some better stat roles for your library, just change the global difficulty to Heroic. Then go and do some "Target Practice" events. The reward will be an item that matches the targeted loot for the zone with heroic difficulty stats. They totally gonna nerf that.

Al-Saqr posted:So what's the over/under on the Expansion? good or bad? How's the overhaul? thinking of getting back into the game. So the story was good, like it was in Vanilla D2. I did mine basically solo except the last mission and it took about 8-10 hrs? But I did some loving around too in NY. They basically re-balanced the entire game so you cannot face roll legendary content like you were able to before with minimal investment. You will have to move up slowly through the different difficulty levels and gear up, make builds. Then take on the next tier, and so on... The loot definitely is more rare now than it was before. Not sure if this is a good thing or bad yet because from my experience on hard mode for like 8 hours is there is still poo poo that drops, so not sure what they were saying that loot would be more rare but better. There are "named" items that are dropping now, both gear and guns that seem more powerful than the usual yellows, not sure when they added this, was it in expansion? or an update in the past since I have not played since WT4. But yeah , this is a thing... Thy added a "paragon" system like Diablo 3 has now. Its a watch and you spend points into 0.2% boosts in stuff like dmg, reload speed, health, etc... So this is cool. The targeted loot thing is really cool, also not sure when they added this feature, but say youre looking for a certain brand, or certain set piece, gun type, you can now farm specific areas/missions. Admiral Joeslop posted:Worst part of the ending: I do find it a bit weird, when you stop to think about things, how story-wise the player character is written with essentially an unerring moral compass. That's the only way something like The Division could possibly work and why it could never work in real life. Everything and everyone else are various shades of gray with most leaning toward black. Even Keener, for all his mustache-twirling, didn't exactly go rogue simply because it was more fun or profitable. There's even an audio recording where he talks about living in a studio apartment in SoHo prior to being activated and manipulating the super rich to spend their money investing in things that help the little guy. The Division definitely did a lot of good, but as we see with the rogue agents it could have just went straight to complete tyranny, too. It seems like the only thing we know about the goal of the BTSU is to establish a form of control or government in the aftermath of the Dollar Flu. But since the SHD exists we're obviously going to oppose them at every turn. There have been multiple times that they've tried to procure equipment for their own ends that we needed and I expect Liberty Island was no exception. We both may have wanted Keener dead, but BTSU wanted the gear and network that he set up. I guess the potential of Keener getting away was worth preventing his gear from falling into their hands; it just worked out that we stopped them both.
