My office came out with a “plan” yesterday saying that if you are tested and confirmed to have it then you will be sent to work from home. Obviously this does nothing for anyone who’s pre-symptomatic and spreading it to everyone else. How stupid is my office and do I need to say something. I work in a public safety para-governmental group and am one of three people who’s job it is to attend and advise utility/infrastructure meetings around South Carolina

The state of oregon has basically been like  since this whole thing started. Washington allocated $100 million to help fight the outbreak. The state of oregon so far has only allocated $5 million and is super behind on testing.

Today Dutch cases jumped from 382 to 500. The governments advice is still to avoid shaking hands with people but go about your business as if everything was normal. Starting to think they are using this as a chance to get a bunch of 80 plussers off the Healthcare network.

Closest case to me is about an hour away but gently caress yeah I work with addicts and we’re close to a huge military base I am definitely going to get this. Hail Satan Also a friend of mine is going on a trip to somewhere in the Caribbean next week and I’m not going anywhere near her for two weeks despite the fact that we work at the same small company.

Oh cool, I'm like 90% sure my boss just infected me with Corona today. I'm in STL, and I'm not sure if y'all head here (I'm still catching up on the thread) but we had a the family of a woman with the virus, just skip out on their quarantine. The father ended up going to a father-daughter dance, and one of my upper upper managers was there. So now today my immediate boss (who sits two desks over from me) comes in to work saying he had a bad cough and trouble breathing over the weekend. He then proceeded to cough all over the drat office. And of course, my department doesn't have the option to work from home. I'm basically bathing in purell, but RIP me.
