We've been drinking F-tier whiskey, like $15 US for a 1.75 handle. I'll take a couple shots and then immediately chase it with cola... ... I just realized my wife will pour herself a glass of it neat and just sip that poo poo for hours. My wife is hard as a diamond.

I've been "working" online. Basically fulfilling some required professional development work each day and answering student questions from 9-11am and 1-2pm. However, I've been taking questions pretty much whenever because I'm not an rear end in a top hat irl. Other than that, spending time teaching my own kids and going through the pile of paper their kindergarten teacher sent home. My wife is home for the next couple days and then starts her new job while the kids and I are now out of school until May 1st as of today. I've also been working on the Jeep I'm restoring and as long as there's no travel ban, I'm probably taking my motorcycles out as soon as we have a dry day. It's actually been pretty nice.

I was traveling to a conference for work a month ago and spent 3 days cooped up with 70 people from all over the place. The day I got back home something knocked me on my rear end for a week. I've got all the current flu shots so I figured it was just a lovely cold. My wife and kids got it too (my kids were vomiting from it). I'm having to post food/snack rules for our family quarantine tomorrow. My kids keep opening everything we've stocked up on.

testing for covid... I cant think of a stupider thing to do than sit in a room with a whole gently caress ton of people wondering if they have the virus. gently caress that. What good can it do to get tested. either i have it or i dont. its not gonna change anything but make it even more likely i will get it if i didnt already.

Nothing much to be done, except respond to the occasional question. The pie I made yesterday turned out good. I have some coned beef and cabbage in the crock pot right now. I checked on it a few times, and it's got several hours to go. Later, I'll go for a walk, avoiding anyone I see, just to get some fresh air.

So, I'm supposed to be at home now because of the California state-wide order. However, the boss says our business is essential when imo it's pretty clearly not on the list. He's using some very tenuous logic to argue we qualify. Difficulty: it's our family business so "boss" is "dad". He's the kind of guy who generally ignores or spins facts he doesn't like. He thinks the whole crisis is overblown, and that economy and stock market will both be "roaring" by October, among other things. I'm very seriously considering telling him that I personally intend to obey the order regardless of what he decides the business does. I have plenty of money saved up and can personally weather this storm with little discomfort compared to probably 95% or more of the population at large. I could go at minimum of 18 months with zero income before I have to sweat over how to pay my bills (before someone asks, no I do not live at home or get any assistance from my parents beyond my paycheck from the business). This order needs as many people complying with it as possible to be effective, and I feel like I should be at the top of the list based on my means.

Working from home, business as usual until the economy collapses and the company I work for goes under. Thinking about learning iOS development just to upgrade my computer toucher skills but I will probably just play call of duty and make music instead.
