I can confirm that the majority of corp employees are wfh now. Not sure about travel. Gonna be interesting when this slows down though as wfh was a big no-no before. Went to 2 warehouses yesterday, Issaquah and Tukwila. Was really impressed how both were dealing with store member counts, inventory signs, and social distancing. Issaquah had an employee out front standing on pallets with a bullhorn extolling the benefits of social distancing. It felt like the Costco version of the washy-washy guy on a cruise.

Minto Took posted:There's really nothing more America. A lot of places have specific laws against this that come into effect when they declare a state of emergency. There's been one famous story doing the rounds on news sites of a guy in Tennessee. Then Tennessee declared a state of emergency and went after him. Here in BC they explicitly said that it was one of the reasons to declare a state of emergency. You could also argue that it's racketeering, in that the people buying up the hand san and TP are artificially creating scarcity to increase their profit. I'm not sure if anywhere is using that line of argument though.

I kind of wish we were down to spam being the only protein available, just to see what inventive recipes we could come up with to make it interesting. Lead out in cuffs posted:In most places they've also been arresting the people who mass-purchased with the intention of reselling to desperate people, which is also satisfying. I'd love to believe this is true, but I have not seen any evidence. (I have been avoiding most media outlets)

I Costco'd today. I was just supposed to meet my wife and bring the cold stuff home so she could head to work, but I ended up just driving there a little early and going in with the first group. Not too nuts, but they were handing out toilet paper and paper towels in the main aisle as you walked in and it looked like they only had a single pallet of name brand stuff for each. Everyone was pretty well behaved, but the guy behind us in the line was an rear end in a top hat. He went in early as an over-60, bought a his limit of hard to get items, came back out and then tried to pay one of the employees $20 to let him in again. No luck there, but that's okay because he had 3 other members of his family all waiting in line with carts and they came in and each got their limits of toilet paper and paper towels.

My trip to Costco Wednesday afternoon was alright. They were out of TP and some other crap I didn't care about but I was able to spend way too much money on food and meds. I have so much waffle mix now.

Been afraid to try the local Costco, but my sister tried one further north and couldn't get any paper or hand sanitizer. I thought I'd be clever and hit up a Fiesta to juke all the racist boomer shoppers, but even they didn't have any Purell or TP. Did manage to snag a few packs of paper towels for the parent's and refilled my Chobani supplies so overall I'd say it was a success.

Yea I thought I was asking for it too, but it was surprisingly great! Very quiet, inventory was good minus the hoarding items, and very short lines. Very pleasant experience

There was a line to get into church this afternoon. First time I've been to it since they started limiting how many people could be in the store at once. After I was in the shopping experience was great. Walls upon walls of toilet paper. It was a bit unsettling to see zero chicken breast available but most other items were in stock.

Are there rotisseries lately at Costco? Not that it's the same thing, just curious. I'm not stepping foot into Costco until all this poo poo is done but my local grocery store has a shitload of rotisserie chickens.

I went today (southern California): no paper products in sight but they had ridiculous amounts of bottled water. Frozen food area was half wasteland and half full stock. Easiest Costco parking I've ever seen and no line to get in. Store was about as busy as normal, though not much in the way of a line at checkout. A friendly man behind me in the checkout line shared his open mouth coughs with my cart and conveyor belt of goods though, so that was nice. Can confirm rotisserie chickens, limit 1 though.
