So is it a better idea if I do need hit Costco, to go about noon or in the afternoon, and just hope they're letting people in the store?

I went at 1:00 today to grab a few things. The parking lot was maybe 1/3 of what it usually is, and I had my choice of cashiers. My understanding is that early mornings are a mess, but the rest of the day is generally very slow. I even got a hotdog.

People who really don't stock up on anything ever, some are poor people some are always eating out people. 3. Panic buyers who need to hoard everything. 4. People who have enough for a few weeks, and are (consciously or not) deciding that since things are still open they may as well continue to stay a few weeks ahead because living on your reserves when you don't have to, and may well need to in a few weeks, is risky (more risky than going out? that's harder to say). Not all the scarcity is panic buying, some is just a lot of people buying a little bit more, and the actual panic buyers aren't rational so actual need isn't all that meaningful.

Here it looks like we might contain it without going that far thankfully but I'm going to do some shopping now.

Has anyone been to church in Everett, MA lately? How’s the stock? Are there crowds/lines? We’re overdue for a trip.

I’m here right now. They’re only selling hot dogs and plain pizza. Pizza only by the whole pie, no slices. Most condiments for the dogs missing. Just ketchup and mustard.

In other news it was a five min wait outside the store and the inside was loving glorious. Easy to navigate, no traffic jams of retirees around the samples, easiest trip I’ve ever had. No TP or hand sanitizer but everything else was fine. Zero lines for registers. On a Sunday morning no less! Seriously they should go with this model (limiting number of people in the store at any one time) permanently. They can double the price of my membership if they do that.

does costco china have the hotdog and pizza combo? I know south korea didn't even localize the food iirc hence why they call ketchup/onions/mustard costco kimchi

Same as the previous poster. 10 min wait outside, paradise inside. No TP or paper towels. One pack of water per cart, they had tons.

10 minute wait outside, plenty of water, they did have my cat food in. However they put a limit of one bag per person per day. no toilet paper of course. The funny thing is I distinctly remember two weeks ago when people had three or four Totes of toilet paper and nobody said boo. Costco's a little late on limiting anything at this point.

The cat's out of the bag. The toilet paper is already off the roll

Are you in Korea? Korean food outside Korea tends to not be sweet in the same way. The sugar in everything trend is recent-ish (last couple decades) and a lot of Korean restaurants are run by immigrants who left before that became a thing. I've found Korean restaurants in the US serve food nowhere near as sugary as they eat in Korea.

Any luck finding hand soap at Costco? I’m actually close to running out but no one has any, and my Friday trip to the ‘co in Chicago was somewhat traumatic (and I didn’t think to look for soap then).
