There's nothing inherently wrong with those two kinds of magic existing in the same world, that's pretty much the dynamic between wizards and witches in Discworld.

Yeah but he's not doing it to juxtapose anything, it just feels like what Mookie thinks of as capital M magic has changed. It's also in keeping with the fetishization of reading and books, it's very facebook.

Yeah, I think that's what I was getting at. Like we've witnessed a metamorphasis from metalhead nerd to goop mom.

Every dozen or so pages Mookie actually moves things along at a decent pace and while it's nice I can't help but judge the massive waste of time pages harsher in retrospect.

Break into the store, you dumbass. There's just a banner in the way and you waltzed inside during the day with no issue. I bet that crazy pervert owner doesn't even lock his door and literally no-one in the city gives a poo poo about the building anyway. You can even leave the cash for the book on the counter if you feel guilty about stealing from a guy who forcibly ejected you face first onto the street.

This is the webcomics equivalent of the part in Manos: The Hands of Fate where they spend like 20 minutes just driving looking for the Valley Lodge.

But with worse visuals.

My god, it's full of cat!

Thinking about the last panel because I thought it was nice that there's a night sky, and looking at it you realise that the only thing that makes it nighttime is the background. There's no change in lighting, the buildings around them are drawn the exact same way they'd be on daytime. There's no shadows or light source, everything is just constantly bathing in constant light.

He realizes he needs to grow stronger to win Ink Witch's affections and so he holds the bindle in the most awkward way possible to build up

Uuuh

Shoulder muscles, I guess? Either that or he desperately wants to be hunchbacked when he grows older from the awkward weight he's putting on his spine and joints.

Credit where credit is due, Ink Witch's expression is fittingly "smug witch" and actually kind of well done, if you ignore that she'd have to snap her neck to have her face in profile at that angle.
