Frees up another $6m I think. He bad but they still need a replacement. Maybe Pierre Desir. https://twitter.com/nyjets/status/1241444430231543808

Their CB's are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad. Almost as bad as their OLB's.

I have no problem with this strategy for the line and I still want to draft a OT with the first rounder. Re-sign Sun Gawd now.

In that case grab Jeudy or Lamb and I haven’t really looks at edge rusher but maybe one of them. Also Van Roten apparently grew up a Jets fan so that’s cool.

They still have glaring needs at CB Tackle WR and Edge. Obviously Thuney getting tagged screwed them to some extent. I'm under no illusion that these guys are good or great starters (outside of maybe McGovern) but (1) they're better than what they were rolling out there last year; (2) throwing lots of darts on decent offensive linemen is a good strategy in and of itself, see, e.g., the Bills last year; and (3) loading up on decent interior linemen will give Douglas more flexibility to fill holes in the draft rather than reach for interior players with his day 2 picks. And again, Rome wasn't built in a day. They weren't going to build a top-tier line from scratch in one offseason. Assuming they get one of the top 4 OTs at 11, I'd say this is a solid enough start. Edit: I now like Fant and McGovern solely for clowning on PFF on twitter https://twitter.com/GeorgeFant74/status/1241736678752112641?s=20 https://twitter.com/McGovenator60/status/1241743627962814464?s=20 Professor Funk fucked around with this message at 16:38 on Mar 22, 2020 |

I guess you assume if Gregg can't get him motivated no one can and hope it pans out? Would like another vet CB and/or a day 2 pick at the position for insurance, but seems like a solid move. It’s a risk in that he could get significant playing time and play at his 2019 level. The contract is a dirt cheap 1 year deal though so if he sucks he gets benched and cut without any harm. He balled out in 2018 though so the talent is there.

Allen gets Diggs, Murray gets Hopkins, Baker gets OBJ/Landry, Darnold gets Demaryius Thomas. If anything, losing Robby probably means that they need to (1) trade for Trent and (2) draft a WR at 11 and 48/68. But I can't see Douglas doing that.

That seems like a pretty big leap of faith to me, even in a deep class.

For every Calvin Ridley, there's at least two guys like Corey Davis, N'Keal Harry, or John Ross.
