In Training posted:picked up kiwami and kiwami 2 on the steam sale. Platted Kiwami yesterday. It's not quite as good as 0 imo but still very good. Majima Everywhere is probably the best part. The writing for the unique encounters is both funnier and more wholesome than anything I can remember from 0. I wouldn't recommend platting it unless you're a glutton for punishment. Kiwami 2 is supposed to be even better so I'm excited.

Kiwami 2 has the best gameplay out of the 3 by far, but the story wasn’t as great as the other two and neither of the Kiwamis have sub stories that measure up to 0’s so I still lean towards 0 as my favorite.

I think Yakuza 2 had a different writer than the rest of the series - IIRC the story was written by a Japanese crime novelist? It definitely feels a little different than the other games
