The Indianapolis 500 has been moved to August. This is relevant because the Indy GP has also moved and appears it will now be a doubleheader with the Xfinity race on the 4th of July.

One rests while the other books it. It's dope as hell to see see an effective whip launch a teammate into a sprint. But this is the NASCAR thread. How about some tandem drafting in the derny race? My dad took me to dirt tracks on weeknights when I was a kid. When I got to college I started to go watch Dale in person when I could. My last year in college was the good Daytona 500, the bad one was just after buying my first house. When Dale Jr was no longer in the #8 Budweiser car I left. Haven't seen more than 10 laps since that press conference, just whenever it was on in the sports bar. My dad was telling me the virtual racing was pretty interesting and has talked me into watching. So, ... I'm back? Let go *touches earpiece* Number 8 Mayonnaise Car?

The racing has been a complete novelty but yeah, bringing actual color and commentary guys in was what really put it over the top. Even the little stuff like flying the pit guys into random peoples game rooms was hilarious. Clint was trying very, very, very hard a few times today not to cuss on national television.

I was pretty amused by how seriously Fox seemed to be taking it and I'm not entirely sure whether it was entirely earnest or not. Like the invocation and anthem before the race; why? Although I love that Timmy Hill won it with a set-up that would be the result of goons saying "what's the cheapest possible way I could get into iRacing?"

There's a thread... somewhere. I'll try to dig it up but your goal should be to actively avoid everyone else on the track and give no fucks for anything but safety rating until you get out of the rookie license. For the love of god get out of rookie license. And don't buy tracks yet. iRacing thread What IGA said is pretty much spot on. Spend time practicing and worry about avoiding incidents more so than pace for now. Especially now, there's tons of free content, so make sure and try all the disciplines, I joined for oval and run mostly road races now.

I spent a decent amount of time tonight in my first hours running street stock and legends on ovals like Thompson and South Boston, just to get the feeling down, rebuild the muscle memory with braking and throttle control and dial in my settings which are so loving far off. I plan to spend a week or so just doing solo practice sessions to re-acclimate myself. Not in a rush to race yet but I will probably join one tomorrow because what the hell. Need to get my wheel settings dialed in, it feels like I can’t steer worth a poo poo. Braking too seems odd.

Welcome to hell: the Gooncar Binston Cup! Saturdays 2240UTC! This series uses the 'legacy' Chevy Silverado truck, which is part of the free content package. All tracks used are free except Iowa, and if you make it to Iowa you're probably invested enough to buy the best goddamn oval in the game. There's a 2 week break because on those dates 80% of the regulars will be running one of the road endurance events (Suzuka 12hrs, Nurburgring 24hrs respectively).
