This is still probably my favorite cut from the mashup glory days: https://youtu.be/Z8S4WplCGfE Edit: loving page snipe. I guess use this page to post your favorite mashups before the decade ends

Aside from GT, the mashup I still go back to the most in 2019 is probably Mile(y) High Club from Super Mash Bros. It's got just the right amount of irreverence (rugrats theme/Kick-Push, Whisper Song/In The Air Tonight) while still going hard as gently caress. Plus it has the one thing every album-length mashup needs to be truly successful, at least one Ludacris verse. edit: i just turned it on again and Wild Wild West/Tonto is loving hilarious DC Murderverse fucked around with this message at 09:07 on Dec 21, 2019 |

So from that classic era we have what Girl talk- I feel like feed the animals was his best. I love night ripper but it’s a little too schizy for me and all day just felt lazy. Super mash bro’s miles high club and gently caress bitches get Euros was great but nothing since. Didn’t mind Bruneuax but couldn’t really recapture the magic for me I dunno, I’m doomed to walk the earth not finding a good mash up album again.

I would pay money to get all the mashup stuff I like into spottily and it's especially galling that stuff like super mash bros are there but unplayable.

Mashup Germany's 2019: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUdzlf_MSvo German language music is something I never seem to run into anywhere else (in the way I do spanish and french music) so I always appreciate this one, and I love that they always mix in a bit of a news recap in the video as well.

Some old ones that I still throw on: Yacht Club DJs' "They Mostly Come At Night Mostly" The Death Set's "Artificially Sweetened" (dead download link, here's a fresh one) DJ BC's "The Beastles" and "Glassbreaks" Ludachrist's "Bangfest" and "Talk is Cheap" "Block Rockin' Boots" (Chemical Brothers themed) "Bootwerk" (Kraftwerk themed) Cool DJ Craig Schuftan's "88mph Stolen Plutonium Megamix" The Kleptones' "A Night at the Hip Hopera" Kids & Explosions' "poo poo Computer" Muffin's "t.A.T.u. + Rammstein: Пружинки" And the big one, DJ Food's "Raiding the 20th Century"

Yacht Club DJs still occasionally play a few gigs a year, but they're all in Melbourne (naturally) and whilst I wish they'd do a nostalgia tour, I'm happy enough to fly down. They don't really release new poo poo these days though. I do miss classic Girl Talk for skill, Super Smash Bros for a nice balance, and Ludachrist for just being pants-on-head insane.

In addition to the leaders of the genre others have posted, I miss E-603, Milkman, Speaky, and White Noise Mashups. This thread is suddenly such a downer. VVV I was too. Fly Ricky fucked around with this message at 14:40 on Dec 23, 2019 |

I was really into the White Panda, but then they became just one guy and I don't think they release mashups anymore.

I miss Milkman and The White Panda also. The White Panda split up and one of them continued on under the name, and still very occasionally releases 'Panda Waves' mixtapes but they're not mashup as their albums were, rather they're more traditional DJ mixes.

I saw a White Panda show once, thinking it would be a fun mashup show; instead it was just a regular trap-ish DJ show that was mostly teenagers on E, and then me at like 2x the age of everyone, and it made me immensely uncomfortable. In conclusion, bring back E-603.

Among the classic-era mashups, DJ Car Stereo (Wars) Explains It All is my most listened to apart from Girl Talk because, while transitions are not as smooth, it captures a similar fun energy and tone. Revisiting this thread at year's end for workout music prompted me to find the CD and rip it.

Been going back through the archives the last few days because, well, that's where all the good mashups are. I don't know why I never really rated White Panda's The Pawprint from 2015, because after a couple of re-listens this week it absolutely slams. Some killer tracks in there: Halsey // Syn Cole // Sam Feldt - Bright Young God Bastille // deadmau5 - Pompeii's Veldt Naughty by Nature // Steve Winwood - Jamboree Love 2pac // Backstreet Boys - I Want California Love Warren G & Nate Dogg // Phantogram - Black Out Regulators
