Is Collins still wheelchair bound? Strange that they would still go through with this when he's obviously still very sick. Is it permanent?

I think the nerve damage is permanent. Evidently Phil's son, Nick, will be playing drums on this tour.

I saw Collins on his most recent US tour (in Charlotte, where he fell down on stage and it was quite scary.) He still sounded pretty great. His son drummed on that tour as well and did a great job.

That said, it was pretty sad seeing him unable to walk or drum.

Yeah, I guess if it's permanent but he can still sing they might as well do one last tour while they can. Sad though.

It fuckin whips hard actually and I can't stop whistling that chorus melody

e. Tiny bit disappointing that the new album is only 45 minutes long and comprises three new songs, a re-recorded song from their not very good debut, and a Black Sabbath cover, but I'm still insanely excited and very happy that it exists at all.

Got tickets to see Devin Townsend next month.

I discovered him after Epicloud, and quickly bought his entire back catalog. My son was 10-ish at the time, so he heard a lot of DTP through osmosis.

Last year, when he was 13, he tells me Devin Townsend is his fave band.

So he's excited we're going to a concert next month.

But I haven't told him I bought the VIP package, and he'll get to meet the guy. It's going to be a super great surprise. But it's only his second concert (Ghost was the first), and it'll be hard to top this one...

Concert was in 2 days, this Friday.

Rumor has it, he's cancelling the rest of the tour.

Bill Rieflin, drummer with Ministry/NiN/REM/King Crimson among others, died after a five year battle with cancer last week.

I honestly hadn't realized the sheer breadth of Rieflin's work until this past week. I knew he was in Ministry, but didn't realize he was Ministry's drummer when they were at their absolute peak, that he was in Swans, etc.

Gonna order this later today and wait for the physical copy, if I can stand to. Also, considering they would have decided upon it months ago at least, that is an amazing title for an album released at this particular moment in time.

Ah it's definitely a random coincidence, I think the newsdump for the album is like a year old at this point.

I'm just now listening to Native Construct - Quiet World for the first time. Holy moly. How had I never heard of this before? This is so weird it's hard for me to think of points of comparison, but the best I can come up with is a hybrid of Haken and Unexpect. I don't know if I like it, which may sound odd given my reaction, but there's just so much going on here that I feel like it's going to take several listens to clarify my thoughts. If nothing else, this is interesting.

Edit: The 'Mute' track (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXQPCowmbD8) really reminded me of parts of Unexpect (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3NPgpPNwsE) (not a 1:1 and I'd have to dig through to find the exact Unexpect tracks this puts me in mind of, but just an eg which hopefully conveys why).
