New song from Wade Bowen and Randy Rogers. Looks like another collaborative album coming; I for one can't wait.

Yeah, it’s funny how worked up the industry writers get. I liked the anime album way more than pretty much all his country stuff, and I find it hilarious how much he cranks up his trolling of basically everyone because they’re mad he’s not behaving like the savior of country music they’d hoped he would be.

Spotify notified me I'm in the top 3% of Colter wall streamers.

Honestly not even that big of a fan but I guess also that type of music isn't huge with the average Spotify user.

Cool that they did that. Would be fun to see for other artists.

The funniest part to me is that he practically winks and nods to the camera every time he says something wacky, and the people who hate him understand this. But they take the bait anyway, every time.

I know, right? I really liked RHH, not a fanatic, but it's good poo poo to blast when you're working in the garage. One of the most memorable shows of my life was him in a small venue. It was dollar PBR night and a much older lady ground on me during Bails of Cocaine (very uncomfortable situation) and one of my acquaintances started a fight with some bikers and got thrown out. Shame to see he's such a chud, unironically using the word "sheeple." Eh, I won't miss being a fan that much.

Oh he's cancelling shows in March but has left April and May shows still on. That's why mine haven't been refunded yet. LOL if anyone thinks shows are going to happen in the next 3 months.

quote:

This week the team behind Luck Reunion, the annual anti-festival held in Willie Nelson’s backyard, will present “‘Til Further Notice,” a live-streamed event held in the absence of this year’s in-person event. On Thursday, March 19, Luck will stage a free broadcast featuring call-in sets filmed live by artists themselves, from the comfort of their own homes. Starting at 6:00 PM Central Time Fans can tune in to luckreunion.com/tilfurthernotice, https://www.twitch.tv/luckreunion and https://www.facebook.com/lucktexasreunion at any time between 6:00 - 11:00 Central Time for a multifaceted streaming event showcasing artists, partners, charities, and makers that make up the cherished “Luck Family”.

While the majority of the acts will be performing and recording from living rooms, bedrooms, or home studios, a small number of local acts are slated to (safely) broadcast from Austin’s premier recording facility, Arlyn Studios. Luck and Arlyn are working in tandem to do what they can to preserve the energy and camaraderie that is intrinsic in Austin’s creative community.

The free-to-view stream is an effort to gather the creative community in a virtual setting during a time that in-person gatherings are impossible to execute.

I listened to this earlier with tears in my eyes. I'm loving torn up right now. He was my intro into country music over twenty years ago and expanded my taste deeply into folk and so many genres I didn't care about at the time. I was into electronic music around that time and a manager at a bookstore I was working at had the double disc "Great Days" anthology album and would play it on the store speakers. It really clicked with me and I bought a copy of the CD and from then I never went too long without having some John Prine on rotation.

Not many musician deaths have much impact on me but this is one of them. I'm going to be in even worse shape the day Bob Dylan leaves us.

I paid an arm and a leg to some Stubhub scalper a couple years back and we took a road trip to Philly to see him on the start of his Tree of Forgiveness tour. Show owned, and I'm even more thankful now that we pulled the trigger when we did. Absolutely joyful on the stage, even after almost 50 years.

Speaking of which -- and I may have missed the discussion on this -- how about Murder Most Foul? I didn't think Dylan had anything left that could floor me, but then, here in 2020 and fifty-eight years after his first album... he does. I'm not sure I've heard anything that so well captures the importance of music as solace in times of tragedy.

It sounded like another one of those bad self parodies for the first few verses but it sucked me in halfway and I found it very emotional by the end. Not an all time classic but it’s got something special going on. His piano playing is great too, and I love hearing tony use a bow.

My dad and I used to sing along to Bruised Orange when I was 2 or 3 years old. I lost my dad a few years ago and I really got back into John Prine since then. Got to see him in SF in 2018, thankfully. This is really hitting me hard though. Such a huge loss.
