I think my annoyance about seeing Gronk come out of retirement is two fold, one being  and how he joked about coming back a bunch but never did. The second is, I was genuinely happy to see him retire when he did cause it felt like he was getting out while he was ahead and at the top of the world. He was pretty banged up at the time and hearing that he cried himself to sleep due to the amount of pain he was in the night of the super bowl LIII made it pretty clear that his retiring was probably the best thing for him and his long-term health. It was bittersweet and a nice ending. Now, it feels like I'm watching another Mike Webster or Junior Seau play out in real time. Pats now have a boatload of draft picks though, so that should be interesting to watch play out. Belichick is still coaching so I don't expect the Patriots to suddenly go 2-14.
