Posted a few things from a "friend" a while back. More of a social acquaintance that I added on Facebook before realizing the depths of his poo poo that I keep around for recreational outrage / eye rolling. "Christian" to the core. (Born again I believe.) Trump loving, naturally. And oddly proud of being from Chicago to the point of typing things out like he lived in an SNL skit. Up first: He's not a Pelosi fan. It's okay. Surely Jesus Christ would sacrifice her too. Wasn't really expecting to find that he apparently believes in the end times: DaRestOfMyFavorites! (Yes. Seemingly every post ends with DA! something.) This was a post of a ZZ Top video for some reason. Another music video. No idea if that's job the biblical name or what the Hell. A little more Nancy: And I'm sorry. Please try to not pee your pants laughing.

They don't bring her up because they don't want you looking her up and learning all her noble work on behalf of the disabled community lead her down the path of being red as hell, and her famous speeches and writings were as often about socialism, anti-militarism, and women's suffrage as they were her remarkable life.

I read that she was initialed hailed as a symbol by people pushing the whole "pull yourself up by your bootstraps", since if a deaf and blind person could do it anyone could. Then as she was able to interact with the world more, she took a very different stance, and they turned on her. Helen Keller posted:I had once believed that we were all masters of our fate--that we could mold our lives into any form we pleased. ... I had overcome deafness and blindness sufficiently to be happy, and I supposed that anyone could come out victorious if he threw himself valiantly into life's struggle. But as I went more and more about the country I learned that I had spoken with assurance on a subject I knew little about. I forgot that I owed my success partly to the advantages of my birth and environment.... Now, however, I learned that the power to rise in the world is not within the reach of everyone, and that opportunity comes with education, family connections, and the influence of friends.

He became a pronounced advocate for democratic socialism and strongly opposed the Vietnam War and American imperialism as un-Christian.

In my experience it's that they're privileged and have lived their entire lives extremely isolated and are so self-absorbed that they can't even comprehend that something exists outside their realm, or that someone has had a thought before they did. There's something deeply ironic about going out and share an idea you invented and are proud of, that already exists, but you didn't know about because you avoided an entire section of society you perceive as beneath you.
