FF7 thread blows up in the early AM on the east coast. Just finished the colosseum earlier today and going to take another stab at Leviathin before beginning the end game but finals are also coming up. I’m looking forward to seeing how they deal with that weird part of the game when you have to position troops to defend a mountain to guard an egg or something weird. I dunno just a weird out of place part of the game from what I remember from playing it when I got to sephiroth but couldn’t beat him at 7 and when I got like 65ish % through at 16. Also going to be interesting to see if they have that weird Junon marching mini game and chocobo breeding.

I've played the original so many times I think I've done literally everything there is to do (which is a LOT) except for going back to Fort Condor every time you can earn a new item from playing that awful minigame (which is a LOT)

Not looking forward to paying $60 to run around Cosmo canyon just to solve a mystery(?) that could have been solved by just looking at the top of the cliff. How they handle optional characters is going to be interesting. Going to guess not very optional but watching how they are going to divide up game time between the full party will either be really good or super annoying. Edit: I bet that all the weird bumfuck towns that spotted their planet will still be in the remakes and they will serve as hubs to rest and restock as you traverse most of the game on foot/chocobo through slightly larger than Midgar pathways. You can cheese the slots by mashing square because the wheel stops spinning when the menu is hidden. Makes it super easy to get what you want with a bit of practice. This also applies to Tifas limit

Things I want to see in future installments: - MOAR ROCKET just SO MUCH ROCKET - Fill Cosmo Canyon with hippies who smoke Cloud out so he can have a few minutes of goddamn peace and relaxation. Then he and Cid can smoke a fat blunt. - Make the Gold Saucer loving awesome - Make Corel Prison loving heartbreaking (it's SO GOOD in the original game and the music is perfect!) - Expand the City of the Ancients because it's my favorite and it looked so beautiful in the original. - Make the archaeology "mini-game" 1) fun, and 2) actually related to archaeology in some way! - snowboard surfing behind ice chocobos I do not want: - Fort Condor AT ALL please don't make me do this crap again. - To chase Yuffie down. Just join without being so dramatic; I'm barely gonna use you, anyways.

how come cloud never gets invited to eat? seems like he gets kicked out of the room every time there's food. he gets uninvited from the pre-reactor-bombing party. he stands outside for the pizza scene and no one saves him a slice. he turns down food at aeris's house. maybe he just doesn't eat because he has an energy potion addiction? those things must have a hell of a lot of protein in them to keep a SOLIDER going with no other nutrition. i guess the troops eat that and the normies want to eat more variety.

SOLDIERs are fueled by ethanol like futurama robots which is why the only thing cloud consumes on screen is hard liquor potions are 40% alcohol by volume and elixirs are functionally just everclear
