I'm guessing this is as close as we're going to get to a statement that "The Orc did not attempt to kill the Ink Witch, using her magic going haywire in the Wild Edge nearly did." Edit: Or maybe the Ship just hates her.

I appreciate how they are gathered around for the opening like it's the loving ark of the covenant. This monumentally important book they bought for 10 bucks at the Mongrelfolk pornography store. Edit: he has the opportunity for a laugh here. They need to open it up to a cube shaped rear end. Drunk Theory fucked around with this message at 01:08 on Apr 20, 2020 |

I just realized that Asinotaph is literally just A Cenotaph, ie an empty monument or tomb. The dream realm is an empty monument to the legacy of Dominic Deegan because he's not actually dead. There, I solved the dumb mystery, end the comic please.

It's a concept complete devoid of substance, so I guess it's appropriate that it's represented by a lovely transparent cube.

I think this is honestly worse than Dominic Deegan. And I've already gone on record in this thread as saying I sincerely believe(d) DD is (was) the nadir of Human creative endeavor. This is so breathtakingly bad. It honestly belongs in a goddamn museum.

What if everything that’s happened up until now, Snout’s quest to find the pages and then the book... Was to find what’s essentially a recruitment book for some Scientology-esque sex cult that Dominic was the founder of?

And I've already gone on record in this thread as saying I sincerely believe(d) DD is (was) the nadir of Human creative endeavor. If we're going by concentration of awful per comic, this is a lot worse than the original. If we're going with total awfulness over its entire run, nothing will ever equal Dominic Deegan, not just because it's over 3000 strips long, but because it's got some real poo poo in there. I don't think Mookie has the patience to keep this going that long, so it's very unlikely he will ever reach the same depths. It doesn't help that he could end this comic at any time with "Snout died on his way back to his home planet" and have it make an equal amount of sense. It reminds me of a bit the goons started in one of the old DD mock threads where someone said "this comic makes more sense if you put the panels backwards," and people did that for like a month and each time it was an improvement on what Mookie had wiped onto the page from his rear end. This comic unironically belongs in the Library of Congress with the following addendum

Yeah Mookie's make it up as he goes writing style really curdles to the surface here. Revelations in DD were often stupid, contrived or both but they at least made you feel something. Every reveal in the Legacy is like a sad airy fart slow dripped to readers over the course of weeks.
