Does this get past the point where the bull demon keeps trying to sexually assault the heroine and it's played for comedy or is he a reocurring character?

Oh, and thanks for the magus-centric recommendations! The wife had a dream the other day and from that dream came this idea that goes "What if instead of lovely dating apps, magic cabals of Witches/Warlocks who were into LGBT relationships were a thing and they helped each other match and occasionally help non-magic people for some moolah?" and I think this is her first non-horror idea where it feels like she might want to write something down long form (she usually writes short horror movies), so she wants to do research and me to sorta help her write the treatment. Appreciate it!

My wife saw this image and she went :kimchi: "That's looks so scene and adorable!"

It does get past it, in my opinion, although the bull demon unfortunately doesn't stop appearing; his apperances have been getting progressively rarer, though. Pretty much everything else about the manga is extremely good.

The later chapters heavily focus on the non-demon cast and their interpersonal relationships. The bull demon has hardly showed up and even when he does, he is so not the focus of what is happening.

Guess I'll give it another shot, then. Not a lot of stuff in this genre that's even remotely good and beggers can't be choosers.

Though the main character being like "well I can't sleep in the same room as you, I might rape you!" is a bit...

Arsenio has some major self-image issues stemming from the fact that [vague backstory stuff]he comes from a culture that taught him his very existence is evil and an affront to God.

I've stuck it out and even though there's definitely things I don't like, I also don't think I could find a single page from these recent chapters I wouldn't consider posting in the convince to read thread.

overall pretty adorable so far but i cant decide who to ship with who so 9/10.

Glad you came around! I think how cartoonish the demon king is drawn and portrayed is supposed to juxtapose how much of a creep he is compared to the main cast. The main characters have a lot of issues and the author does a great job of portraying them as ignorant rather than malicious. They’re confused and young dealing with a lot of crazy emotions and I love how their psychology and sexuality is being explored.

I’m a cis gay man and don’t read a lot of lgbt manga because frankly most of it has nothing I like. Then again I don’t really search it out. I stumbled into this one a couple weeks ago and would love to find others like it.

It's worth noting that the defining characteristic of the demons is they view others only in terms of their physical appearance and how that conforms to or enables their fetishes. Contrast that with the main cast's careful and thoughtful (mostly) navigation of relationships and sexuality. So there's a reason why the monsters are monsters, and it has nothing to do with how they sustain their magical energy.

is Tamayomi gay? the only thing i know about it is the key art i saw in an email about simulcasts starting last month and it looked pretty gay. could go for some sports romance

its gay in the same way a lot of stuff with an all-female cast is but i didnt see anything in it as explicit as, say, harukana receive, where characters literally talked about ex-girlfriends. still a lot of subtext and sweet moments between the two leads.

unfortunately the anime is a production trainwreck that looks nothing like the promo art and instead looks like a deen show from 2005.

(Also small correction, Rei goes by 'he' (at least in the translation; I'm kinda curious how that's handled in the original Japanese))

The opening absolutely slaps, though.

This happened to me, where I had to put the show down for a couple of weeks before going back to it. I kind of have mixed feelings about the show as a whole, mostly for the back half, but I originally was more negative towards the show than I feel was necessary in retrospect- while the overarching plot is flawed in some ways, a lot of the individual episodes have a lot of really interesting theming, especially on a symbolic level. The clock tower episode, for example, is riffing on the historical Class-S Shoujo/Yuri genre, where relationships are stagnant and generally arent allowed to progress into intimacy, or are framed as a 'phase' of school life. I definitely look more favorably on it in retrospect, and it's still a treat visually and in the sound department, even if the plot and characters don't grab you.

That looks very cute and gay and exactly the kind of thing I was looking for when I asked for recommendations for cute gay things that aren't set in a high school

People need to stop linking cute gay things that I want to read that aren't finished yet :negative:

Craptacular!

Fuck the DH
It says something about how my perspective of same sex relationships in anime are so defined by fan art porn, that I can’t look at these “wow he’s such a cute crossdresser” mangas without being like “where’s the dick jokes, there’s gonna be a dick joke on this page, oh okay so this is a swimsuit issue so there’s going to be a discussion on bulging genitals”. The closest things came was the Prunus Girl discussion on body hair.

It’s not like I consciously want this poo poo (especially with high school characters), but I keep having my expectations subverted in almost every chapter and it’s become a commentary on where my expectations are to begin with. Probably not a surprise for someone who survived the bad old days of ADTRW, but when poo poo’s anime, I have this automatic assumption it’ll be hornytown.
