Maybe that's how I heard of them. Covet is so great, so that show must've kicked rear end. I'm jealous!

Hell yes, even more excited to see them on Saturday now.

I discovered them because someone in a FB comment on an ad for the show said to make sure to catch them as they kind of steal the show. Theyre the first of 4 bands(Drug Church, mewithoutyou, headlined by Thrice) and I was only going to see Thrice so Im really glad Im going early to see them now.

Having a seriously anxious day so I decided to fight it by blasting this 24 hour Sigur Ros track that’s just an AI running stems of their music and weaving it into different, weirder music. I’m 3 hours in and it’s insane how much better I feel with this pretty ambient sound just canceling out all my scary inner thoughts.

It’s called “Route One” if anyone wants to learn more about it

That might be the most genuinely post-rock thing I've ever heard of.

sorry, dude. i actually managed to have a really awesome day because nobody else queued any music for six hours (was alone for the first two) and everything i played was post-rock from a different country

Wasn't that originally broadcast as a live video from a dashcam as they drove around Iceland during summer solstice?

Think it might be on youtube.

Yeah it’s just three 8 hour videos on YouTube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G54tllj-SKI

The neat thing is it’s a background thing but whenever I check in on the video it’s either a beautiful scenic view of a place I’ve never been or it’s a gas station parking lot for 15 minutes.

Spotify's Discover Weekly recently recommended me a track by the band Wander called March:

Excited to be seeing MONO tomorrow night, these guys are opening for them
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzh1KY6t2Bs don't seem too bad.

I'd love if MONO just played Hymn to the Immortal Wind straight, but I'll settle for a bunch of stuff across their career. Looks to be a 1:40 set.

Mogwai are releasing their latest soundtrack album for pay-what-you-can on Bandcamp and proceeds will support NHS workers and indie musicians.

I'm mixed on their soundtrack work. The stuff they did for Kin is excellent, Atomic has it's highs and lows, and Les Revenants is very, very meh and inert. Haven't heard this latest one so who knows?

Also, I was supposed to see Caspian at the end of March, and the show they re-scheduled for June was cancelled, which sucks. On Circles is the best thing they've done in a long time, so I've been listening to that pretty much on repeat these days.

Speaking of Caspian, they released a documentary about the making of On Circles today!

A portly feline wizard waddles forth, muttering something about conjured food.

Yeah, initially Caspian just cancelled the first half of their tour, including the show I had tickets for in mid-April. The rest of the dates were still open until recently when they cancelled all the rest.

I listened to Waking Season in full the other day, great album. I'll have to give On Circles another go as it didn't grab me right away.

The Fountain might be one of the best soundtracks I ever heard. Ok, that is also due to Clint Mansell and the Kronos Quartet, but still. Death is the Road to Awe and Together We Will Live Forever kill me.
