Sony's Twitter atm is being hassled on almost every post by people complaining that they should change the games given with PS Plus for May because they're Farming Simulator and Cities Skylines. Gamers that literally can't contemplate trying a game that doesn't involve shooting people.

It's going to disappoint you and go "thats what people are mad about?" And the answer is yes Joel gets killed an hour into the game by the daughter of the doctor he killed, who's name is Abby. Ellie goes on a revenge quest to kill Abby and when you finally meet up the game switches to letting you play Abby for the back half of the game before the final chapter. The whole thing didnt really work for me, in that rather than getting virulently angry I think the devs wanted you to feel sympathy for Abby so they let you walk in her shoes for basically half of what's actually a pretty lengthy game. But i didn't really find her compelling and a lot of what happens feels like its done for misery or shock value. If it worked for people thats cool tho.

The Smash fandom completely baffles me. How do people get so worked up over a button-masher whose only standout characteristics were (a) cool powerups and (b) playing your favorite licensed Nintendo property. The whole franchise is just a goofier version of Marvel Vs. Capcom by now. What does it matter whose sprite is on the next character?

My much older, not especially social brother called me up and said "do you want to check this out?" I'm not sure how he heard about it. I said "You don't want to check it out, but if you insist" and he did insist. So we get there, he hops down to the basement where the tournament is while I say hi to my friends on the staff. A couple minutes later he comes back and says "you were totally right" and we leave.
