Here we go again.

This one kicks off the stupid right away because it also implies that she is doing something bad and treacherous and unfeminine by leaning away from him, forcing him to lean in, when it's just that the dude is twice as broad in the shoulders as he is in the waist - if she wants to be close to him, she has to lean back to make room for his torso.

Future member of Estranged Parents message boards. I don't even like Minecraft and I get how hosed that is. It's not locking away some toys for a set amount of time, that's destroying their toy in front of them.
I used to work a late shift at a job when I was 19, lifting concrete and other heavy crap into the back of people's cars. My dad, a firm believer that I was being "lazy" and needed to follow a strict schedule to wake up on time, stormed into my room one afternoon after I was working the previous evening and *tore down the blinds in my room*, forcing sunlight into the room and removing any semblance of privacy to the neighbors across the street.

I had other run-ins with him thoughout my childhood breaking my poo poo when he felt I was refusing his authority, or just because he felt like it.

I empathize with this child, how utterly broken do you have to be as an adult to gently caress up a child that way?

I remember seeing some thing years ago where a bunch of "men's rights" weirdos were analysing photos of celebrity couples, and the one I remember was one of Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, in which the fact that he was walking slightly behind her and holding a carrier bag proved that he was "whipped". Presumably they would consider this completely different to the way celebrity magazines speculate on a couple's relationship based on the "body language" in a single still photograph - because those are celebrity gossip magazines for girls, while this is Science :pseudo:

The Sun and the Mo[o]n used to be considered planets, since they too moved with respect to the "fixed" background stars.

The planet that the Romans (and we) named for Jupiter Mercury, the Norse named for Wodin.

e: Fixed the quote. Also fixed something I misremembered about ancient astronomy there.

I'm just glad the planets don't really get re-named for stuff in contemporary religions anymore, or we'd have NASA sending orbiters to the moons of Jesus, and launching another Moses rover to look for signs of ancient life.

Goddamn, being slightly shorter than The Mountain (inexplicable humblebrag), this is just how taking pictures is. Any group photo requires you to either lean in, crouch a little, or be in the first row with the people behind you standing on risers. (Or have your head cut out of the photo, as has happened.) If you want everyone to stand up totally straight, the only natural posture would be him resting his hand on the top of her head. Which I think strikes the OP as way more favorable than crouching for a sidehug.
