I think the US is dumb for not using Celsius
Spartanburg is in the US, they are still offering going there to pick up your x whatever that you'll use to take Jeremy to lacrosse.

You shared it with a dick.

Hey BMW thread, mind if I ask a dumb question? My nephew just bought an 04 745 LI for like $2800, from a "friend". He's had it less than a few weeks. It had a transmission light on "because it doesn't have traction control" when he bought it, and a brand new battery. After his first fillup it did this:

That's all I know so far, any clues where to go from here? Unfortunately he's 1000 miles away from me so I can't do anything but give advisory texts. The dealership of course wants $300 to hook it up, I told him to shop for an indy. Do you guys know of any obvious "Oh yeah it's the ABS module" kinds of things or are we on our own?

Should I tell him to kick his friend in the nards and make him buy it back?

He needs something that can read BMW extended codes and learn to wrench. Or start dating a BMW mechanic.

I suggest that he start running a winxp virtual machine on a laptop, that he download INPA and the other various available BMW diagnostic softwares, and that he buy a cord himself. he should be able to get all that going for some time and like twenty bucks and he will use it A LOT.

if he balks at doing that tell him to kick his friend in the balls and give it back.

BMW said it will still be available in a RWD / manual config if you want it that way. I will not be getting that, unfortunately, because my girlfriend can't drive stick and this needs to be her daily.

Your Nephew is just one idiot light away from BMW Yahtzee (every one lit up). Also, that car is worth exactly the 18.5 gallons of gas it has in it.

See if he can get it to an Autozone or something that can read out the codes for him (and clear what will allow it), though I imagine that the multitude of faults listed might not give a clear indication of what needs repairing. Maybe so. Worth a try, though.

Next up in "What is going on with E9X M3 prices" is this: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2011-bmw-m3-88/

A 2011 space grey comp pack DCT E92 with carbon roof. Seems decent. Has had a repainted fender, 39K miles, very clean looking.

Sold for $40,250. with a ~$2000 buyers premium attached.

I know I have said that it would take a lot of money for me to consider parting with my E90 which I would say is objectively better than what this guy just sold. If some idiot came wagging forty two grand in my face right now I would probably do something stupid. There is just such a massive valley on the values of these cars that it is a bit of a moving target to catch. It leaves me very confused. Seriously, take a look at the past auctions: https://bringatrailer.com/bmw/e90-e92-m3/

0 interest. I tried to teach her and she was fine in the parking lot, but as soon as we came to a stop sign, she panicks, stalls the car and starts crying. I've never been able to convince her to try again.

Folding rear seats are an optional extra so depends on the car.

I'm pretty sure they're standard on the F80 so that might carry over? In the US at least? I know they were always part of an options package in previous generations so it's still very possible you need the winter package or some poo poo.

This is encouraging for those of us with nearly-identical little deuce coupes with the carbon roof, in Space Grey Metallic, and have 35k miles on it currently.... but still. Wow. That's pretty steep even for as clean as this is.

Don’t know about the US, but mine is a late F30 LCI and does not have folding seats.

That and the lack of lumbar support are the only two things I dislike about my car tbh.
