Hayley Williams' solo project Petals for Armor is out today and getting some really good reviews. I was blown away by Simmer and Leave it Alone so I'm looking forward to hearing the entire album.

Part 3 doesn't stand out to me quite as much as parts 1 and 2 did but it's early days, I feel like these are the kind of songs I'll come round to after a couple of listens. Just finished the Hayley Williams album and her voice is great as always but a lot of the songs didn't really do much for me.

guys, I have something to confess I tend to believe that the idea of "guilty pleasures" are dumb. At one point I probably said that pop music was a guilty pleasure, but I've long passed the point of feeling bad about what I like, and I think that you should just own up to what you enjoy listening to and not try to couch it in irony or "guilty pleasures" that being said, I think this train song is great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSBFehvLJDc I'm sorry, I've failed, I'm going to music hell, but it's just so loving goofy, like someone wrote a parody of a train song and got Pat Monahan to sign off on it edit; I think the best part is the dumb specificity of "She got run over by a graphite purple Scion". Honestly, I was late to the whole Paramore craze being a metal fan (and of course it was a sin to listen to anything except metal). I listened some of their stuff later and I must say I like their edgy/angsty stuff more than the newer, objectively more hi quality songs. It reminds me of my lovely teenage years.

Charli's new album is pretty good. Claws is very aptly named because even after being out for weeks it still has it's claws in my brain I like I like I like I like I like everything about it. it woudl be a very good pair with I Really Like You, they're like sister songs!

It’s pretty mad just how good the new album is. The opener feels like a bop for the end of the world. My only critique is most of the songs are just so short.

Honestly the new Charli is so perfect to me. I always liked her more introspective or sentimental tracks so I think I was predisposed to love this one but it really does hit. All of the tracks bring something to the table for me. Even though I think "I Finally Understand" is one of the weaker songs, I find the lyrics really striking. The double hitter of Anthems and Visions is a hell of a way to end the album. As a massive Charli fan & just the circumstances it was made & released under I wouldn't be surprised if this is my AOTY. I've been leaning heavily on older, familiar music while in lockdown but I can't stop going back to this. It's wonderful.

Coming back to say the new Perfume Genius is really good and maybe his most accessible to date. Every time I listen to it, it gets better. Would recommend for anyone in the mood for something more chilled and/or arty. The first half is particularly good.
