Yeah caught me in the awkward position haha I always felt a little weird being a girl sax player. It was mostly other boys playing. It felt good to beat them in competition lol |

in Hs we played this simplified version of the Hogan’s heroes theme song and it was the one song the whole class could play so we’d get amped on feeling the joy of making music together but we sucked at everything else so when the teacher left for a bit we’d pull out that song and just blast it. teacher eventually caved and gave us a more complex version of the theme but we sucked at that too

I'm supposed to be getting a new saxophone delivered today so I'll probably christen it tonight. I'll try to make another recording.i also got a couple of Real Books (books with common songs and jazz standards transcribed) so I'll find something fun to play from those. |

Oh my god you guys. I'm so excited about this! Playing on a new horn and mouthpiece makes all the difference. It's incredible. the talent of the sax playing goes without saying but also, maybe i should say "very good sax playing!" i can barely sing and that is a single valve, i can't imagine playing sax or any instrument at all to be honest

It took quite a few years of practice and lots of failures to get to be able to play decently. Don't be afraid to sound like poo poo for a while! It gets better! |
