Isekai-adjacent but seems wholesome and likely to remain that way: Sousou no Frieren, aka Frieren at the Funeral. The story of an elf who was a member of the hero's party, who has to deal with the vast difference in lifespan between herself and her friends, which she doesn't really wrap her head around until meeting them at a 50-year meteor shower she had idly suggested they meet up again to see after saving the kingdom.

Kerei Cake redid the first chapter's translation; it's worth checking out for anyone who got scared off of the original: https://mangadex.org/chapter/894186

everyone else is an elf or a dragon or some poo poo, and she respawned as a spider, which has a short, brutal childhood that often results in death by design

neat twist, really.

The light novel is being released by JNC, if you're interested in getting more immediately.

Ah, I'm just going by the manga, I thought everyone else was made into a human in this world. I didn't know it was more random than that. That explains it.

IIRC most of them are humans. A few of them are not.

Yeah it’ll be interesting to see how they tell the other reincarnated student’s stories, if at all. The LN skips around a bit. The manga may just go from Kumoko’s viewpoint the whole time, in which case we’ll meet the majority of her classmates around the heat death of the universe

there's no actual conflict or tension in it. dude gets handed every possible advantage, and any opposition he meets is trivial and ineffectual. the author rewrote a second version of it, but i was never interested in checking that out due to how completely uninteresting the original was.

I kind of like the premise that earth's god poo poo on a guy for his whole life to prepare him for a role that no longer exists in modern times so gods of another world take pity on him.

Since the manga started three years after the reboot it's probably based on that.

I am not saying its great but it was a fun popcorn fiction read. Also i enjoy the world building and the fact that the magic he creates is something other people can use he just came looking at the magic from a different point of view.

There's an anime coming in winter I think. I don't really watch anime any more but I like the fluffyness enough to at least check out the first episode when it's out.

Edit: and the manga for licenced which is why Whim dropped it. First volume should be out in winter too.

I wish they'd bumped his age up to 12 in the beginning when he first got put the forest. Everyone's very overprotective and I get it but I'm still rolling my eyes at it constantly coming up. That and I wish he had already just come clean about things because he's 42 and it's kinda weird being dropped in a body nearly a 4th his age.

Regardless, I like it, slime cultivation is really interesting and watching them continue to evolve and grow is fun. I keep waiting on them to go into a whole new type of slime like... poo poo, my only example off the top of my head are slime knights but that's still not quite right. More humanoid.

It's slow for everybody, slightly better earlier in the day (EST) but still pretty bad. If you're desperate to read, switch to single image loading instead of long/strip viewing. They are planning on updating servers to fix this sometime this upcoming week, and also encouraging uploaders to better manage their filesizes. (160+MB for a single chapter, lol)

I was getting caught up on a WN on Novel Updates and happened to see a title that caught my interest in the Recommendations and figured I'd check it out. It also happened to have the Adapted to Manga tag, which a group just picked up a couple weeks ago, so lucky timing there.

It's another one for the ridiculous titles, too: I Reincarnated as the Hero's Childhood Friend Who Was the Losing Love Interest, so I Changed Jobs to Alchemist.

The title basically says it all. It's not an otome game, instead being an RPG, but there isn't a system or levels or anything like that either.

A little more on the basic setup:

From what descriptions we've gotten it sounds like everyone just never bothered going back to the home town, so of course the romance with the original heroine never went anywhere

The party does return to the town due to an important NPC (who's also important to this new story), it just isn't Laura. She's still there and says she'll keep waiting for the hero, though.

"The hero was in love with me until halfway through the original plot, so I decided to make a career without him. But that actually made him fall in love with me and revealed that he actually was secretly in love for the whole old plot"

Now available as a crossover.

The Struggle of Returning to The Other World is about a standard isekai priestess who did her bit, saved the world and such, and then went back to earth. except, she bombed hard when she confessed to the standard bishie knight escort. now she's inexplicably isekai'd again, this time with no particular role to fill or special powers. so now her great quest is to earn a living and avoid everyone she knew the first time because it would be so incredibly awkward.

it's not particularly interesting, but i really like the premise.

Not technically isekai itself, but the spinoff stories for 300 years killing slimes witch's wife, Beelzebub, have their own manga now.

I've been generally enjoying the manga version of this but there's been some new chapters recently and boy howdy does the author's lovely mentality shine through on his beliefs about working conditions, child labor etc, and of course is portrayed as the "virtuous" choice

https://mangadex.org/chapter/906973

lol "hindering their growth"(which is them being forced to constantly adapt just to survive) by giving them a reasonable standard of living that you can totally pull off with the resources available to you and treating your inaction as a noble choice, piss off protag/author

hell, hire them to do what they were doing before(picking up monster corpses) officially as a cleanup crew for the mines or whatever and pay them a proper wage instead of having them continue to struggle to fend for themselves. he straight up told them to go back to cleaning the toilet pits which was stated right beforehand that it would make them sick if they had kept doing it, when his slimes love doing it and don't get sick from the piles of poo poo. it just reads like "suffering builds character" preaching to me
