I see that art has really improved in the latest ones too! It makes the blatant-self-insert dad character look even worse, since he stands out so much now.

Yeah, he's the main mascot character of the Beano comic. Much more of an actual menace than the American version - an outright prankster and bully.

If I remember right, by some weird coincidence both the British and American Dennises were first published on the same day.
