a year after our old girls passed, we have finally found cats again! front left is Simone, with Melly in the back. they're only about 7 weeks old, which is normally too young to separate a kitten from its mother, but these sisters are orphans. they were found in a parking lot in Houston and nursed to health by a very good foster family with young children who did an excellent job socializing them. they are friendly and brave and immediately accepted their new house and new humans as their own. they meow loudly for food and lap time, fight ferociously, eat messily, and sleep soundly. we hope to be the best cat parents for them we can it took them half an hour to go from the demure kittens above to this:  to this:  and they're gonna be great huntresses of bugs and lizards and catnip mice around the house https://i.imgur.com/8j6NjSn.mp4 (USER WAS PUT ON PROBATION FOR THIS POST)

These are my cats, Suzie (left) and Epsilon (right) Suzie loves everyone and purrs constantly. When we take her to the vet she spends the entire time trying to cuddle the vet. At home she can usually be found in any room that contains at least one human, soliciting pettings. Epsilon hates almost everyone and is very possessive of the few people she does like. At the vet she spends the entire time hiding under furniture. At home she is either asleep in her cat bed (which she loves, but will never admit it) or asserting ownership of one of the humans.  Sometimes there is !!bird!! outside and then it is time for both cats to go Full Alert. Suzie often goes Full Alert even without !!bird!!, too.  Both cats are wary of the chickens. Epsilon appears to take comfort in the fact that they can't¹ reach her up here, though. ¹ definitely can, but are usually too lazy to  Suzie argues that instead of reading my daughter bedtime stories, I should be petting her. This cat is a dog. She's such a good cat! Her name's Sarah and she's a complete brat of a dog who feels threatened by everything but nobody who interacts with her can do anything but love her. She's also got the quarantine hair thing going on and if the infection rates ever slow down here one of our first action items is to take her to the groomer to get that mane tamed.
