Also, couldn't help but notice this coincidence, Araki truly was ahead of his time

checked and it's in the manga too so it's not a case of animators getting cute with modern references or anything

What I get from this is Araki always wanted to do the extremely out-there body horror and disfigurement we all know and love from the later parts, but if you don't have the fig leaf of 'a Stand did it' it just looks really stupid having a guy bisected down the middle and still be capable of conscious thought and capable of complaing about the pain of having half his brain, organs and circulatory system missing

Probably something to do with the fact that pillar men eat at a cellular level and he just experienced an extremely fast form of being digested, almost blob-esque

Vampires and Double Vampires create strange bedfellows but at the end of the day the nazis basically made everything worse even if stroheim was far more competent than caesar ever was.

The one time they help is when they save Joseph from the zombie army after Kars doesn't uphold his end of the bargain, but otherwise yeah.

The characters themselves forget about him one episode later, so you're not the only one.

My favorite part is when Joseph does that thing speedrunners do when they run into a random piece of geometry and somehow end up skipping entire levels.

Jotaro in part 3 and the guys in part 4 are like 16-17, they are high schoolers, which is kinda the norm in a lot of anime/manga series.

Up until part 4 all the protagonists are 17-19 going on 35

But you are right wuggles, it is nice to see the pendulum swing the other way, while the characters are meant to be of age anyway.

I'm about halfway through part 5 and I could have sworn Golden Wind had a damage reflect as part of it's power set (I distinctly remember thinking that was kinda OP). Did the author just change his mind part way through, or does that come up again later?

It isn't explicitly used again but also while there aren't any situations where it is specifically able to be used again, the theme of reflecting damage back to the attacker is still there.

Regarding the battles in Part 5 Giorno could have had one hell of a speedrun if he had started taping frogs to people
