YMMV, but it looks like Costco might be clearing the way for the new models of LG OLED tvs (the X line).

My local Co (Pacoima) had a 77 and 65 OLED in the open box section. $1,200 for the 65", might have Squaretrade included. Be warned, SquareTrade does not cover burn-in.

How do i deep fry butter!? :qq:

Freeze it and wrap it in biscuit dough based on what they did at the last Texas State Fair I went to. Then when it's done, you have a ball of dough with a gush of liquid butter in the middle. Topped with more butter and garlic.

Does anyone ever get those frozen sliders? They get very damp when microwaving as the instructions say and wondered if there are better prep options.

They’re terrible but I also like them??

Maybe pop em in a toaster oven for a minute after nuking? That seems to crisp up lots of soggy microwaved foods for me, including breaded Costco/Trader Joes poo poo/leftovers.

I haven't gotten those specifically, but my roommate & I have found that defrosting a lot of the frozen stuff in the refrigerator overnight (Angus burgers, El Montery burritos/chimichangas, and the chicken bakes, specifically) makes it cook much better.

I miss just going to Costco and wandering around. I went every single week for like 6 months until Covid. Sometimes I wouldn't even get a cart and just wander around and maybe pick up one or two things. Couple times I went up and down every single aisle even the boring ones that only have like adult undergarments and batteries just so I didn't miss anything good.

Not here. They have huge packages of cheese curds that I get from time to time but they're not squeaky at all. You need to get them fresh for that and the only place I can regularly get those is at the deli section at my grocery store.

Get a pork shoulder. Use half to make carnitas, use the other half to make chili verde pork in a pressure cooker.

They don't in VA, but the ALDIs around here do. One of these days I'll try making poutine at home.

Tell ya what though, I discovered recently cheese curds are divine inside a chili. Used instead of putting shredded cheese on top, the mixed in curds become these gooey little cheese bombs

Fish is another place sous vide shines and not as time consuming.

A piece of good cod or halibut or something with some butter and lemon zest in a bag for 40 minutes always comes out perfection.

Same at my Costco. I've taken to buying a bag each of the broccoli, multi color cauliflower, root veggies and squash and mixing up my own blend. Still real good but way more work.

I do this with fresh so frozen probably needs to be thawed and thoroughly dried:
Green beans
High smoke point oil
Shallot
Salt+pepper
Lemon or lime

Heat oil in a pan to screaming hot- I use KS grapeseed oil because high smoke point, throw beans into pan with a liberal sprinkle of salt and cover immediately because oil is going to go everywhere initially. Cook them beans until they look almost burnt- blistered, shriveled and charred in spots is the goal here. Lower heat to medium/low and add a thinly sliced shallot, cook until shallot softens. Add the juice of a lemon or lime and toss over heat until everything is nicely coated. Zest is good too if you want to add additional citrus. Add salt and pepper to taste.

I've made two pounds of fresh green beans like this since last Saturday and it has been a hit.

If you're comfortable with it and have reasonably sharp knife, cutting down pork loin is usually ~$1/lb cheaper than buying chops and you can choose your thickness.

I went to the grocery store today and maybe 25% of the non-employees were wearing masks. Even if masks are 100% ineffective, the Costco policy has managed to get many of the goobers out of Costco.
